There is no studio version of Rivers with Apocalyptica, but there is a live version of Rivers from Omega Alive where Simone sings it ‘A Capella’ just her and a choir. Arguably even more magical than this performance.

Just been to check it out. Holy crap, that is possibly the most incredible song I have ever heard. The power and range of just the human voice is mind blowing and Simone rising above it, just perfection.

They recorded Rivers and Once Upon a Nightmare as one take for Omega Alive. Once Upon a Nightmare is, in my opinion, even better. Those two songs are Simone’s favourite part of the Omega Alive show.

Versions without Apocalytica: studio recording on the Omega album, Omega Alive concert done acapella with choir, and a live in Chile. Next? Suggest "The Skeleton Key" from the Omega Alive virtual concert.

We saw them in England 2 days after this show, they were incredible, such a fun band

they both went on tour together in Europe, they redid this Epica song, and also Simone is featured in one of their songs "Rise again", theres a live version from London on apocalyptica channel. Original song is just Epica, theres official visualizer for it, also theres a acapella version. This is her new mic stand, previous one was S shaped, like her name

YAY!!! Finally!! Since you loved Once Upon a Nightmare and Tides of Time, I bet your mind was blown with this one. Simone's voice here was pure perfection. And no, I'm not being hyperbolic, I think this is the best live vocal performance I've seen of her. I can't wait to see your reaction!

Great reaction from the greatest of symphonic metal bands in EPICA, and probably the greatest band I’ve ever seen in my 63 years. This ballad live with Apocalyptica I love almost as much as her appearance with them in London doing their song Rise Again… it is well, juat no words man 🙏😎🤘🏻

I love this rendition. This doesn't take skill. It's a pretty simple song. But it shows off her voice that's like no other... bright but still like warm honey... really unique. I'm just in love with it.

Yeah, the live recordings of all the songs they released from this show are available on music streaming! The studio version isn’t too different, but there’s just something about hearing it live that always feel so much more full and connected. Absolutely the most beautiful metal ballad I’ve ever heard. Simone’s voice is just….like sunlight on water. And Epica PLUS Apocalyptica is just the most magnificent marriage in the metal world. I was lucky enough to go see this tour and the whole thing was incredible. What a show! You’ll probably like to know that there’s another collab they’ve done too-Simone sang on the Apocalyptica song Rise Again and there’s a live recording of that one too! Also, Simone hinted that there will be a featured cello player on her new album and I’m really hoping it’s one of the Apocalyptica guys.

I saw Epica live twice and will see them a third time in August. She's flawless. They all are.

Great reaction! This is such a beautiful song and there is a bunch of beautiful performances worth checking out. First is the original visualizer/music video, then the acapella version from Omega Alive (it was actually shot as one continuous take long with Once Upon a Nightmre(, then the one shot live from Chile (with amazing camera work by their videographer Jens the Panda), and this live performance with Apocalyptica but my favorite has to be from their 20th anniversary concert. They streamed it live on the internet and the audio and video quality was outstanding. They did a combination version of Rivers, starting with the acapella version style and then switching to the full studio version where the whole band comes in. The first time I heard that song it sounded familiar to me too. It took me a couple of days but I think the melody is very simular to Shontelle' "Impossible". Am I familiar with Shontelle's music.
