My favourite performance of my favourite song by my favourite band……..

The album version of this song mostly relies on strings, wind insruments and piano with only using guitar and drums for the crescendo parts. Epica did a great job rearranging the song to strip out the symphonic parts so that they could perform it with all the instruments you are actually bing on stage while keeping the early feeling of the song. In a certain way, they did the opposite here of wht they always do as bonus on their albums, e.g. add some alternate symphonic only versions of some songs as bonus to their albums.

Sweet Dreams

The eerie voice is reciting parts of a poem by Goethe. Make sure you listen to the standard album version too ;) Maybe find a version with on-screen lyrics.

Very beautiful song and so well performed here. Simone Simons have a new song out. Simone Simons - Aeterna (FT Ayreon). Its not in level with Epica in my opinion, tho very interesting. And the Melody is stuck in my head 😂.

You can only get that guitar tone from a Gibson Les Paul. Superb song.
