you ran into spawning pike headed into the marshes, couple of them were good eaters!

Sam. I grew up fishing that same spot you were. For 15 years. We had a family cabin west of there on the north shore of the lake. Caught a lot of walleyes over the years. I’ve heard the like and bass have taken over. But apparently a few walleyes left.

Loved your fish slippers. At least they weren't Smurf slippers. I grew up in Winner South Dakota. The pheasant capitol of the world. I live in Spokane Washington now. I fish for walleye in Lake Roosevelt part of the Columbia River. Our limit for Walleye is 16 fish any size

The jig he’s using doesn’t spin. So there shouldn’t be much line twists.

I guess Pike have fine y shaped bones that you have to know how to get rid of I understand. Also they are somewhat slimey that if you put them into a mixture of vinegar and water you can wipe off the concealed mucus. I always wanted to catch northern pike

You should mark the fins, your probably catching the same fish over & over again, pikes are dumb!
