Last time I rode the Hartside pass was in 1974, and I was almost killed. It was foggy and a van had broken down in the middle of a blind corner, it was close.

As you said in the video with regards corners, if you need to lose some speed, always try to brake before the corner but ideally if you’ve planned for the corner you shouldn’t need to brake at all because you should be approaching it in the right gear and at the right speed in order to negotiate the bend without the risk of destabilising the bike. However if needs must and you need to shave a few mph off mid corner, there’s nothing wrong with feathering the rear brake, it’s a better alternative to crashing! 👍

Used to go to the hartside cafe on my vfr800 for a wee run from scotland.Fantastic veiws and lot of trick bikes and cars,once seen a very rare and exspensive honda nr 750

@@SIMONB1 Hi Simon,yes still riding have my 1998 vfr 800 which l have owned since new.I also have a 1996 BMW r1100rs,my second which l have done a lot of work on since bought in 2021.After watching your video on the booster plug l decided to fit one, which has improved the bike no end👍.Ride safe thanks Keith
