The Scinic sunscreen I think is my new holy grail. The UVA PF rating was tested somewhere around 23.5 which is pretty high for a Korean sunscreen. It always looks dewy on youtube videos but I noticed it does diminish pretty quickly. To me it almost has a buttery texture but quickly melts to nothing. And yes it's very affordable. I just keep gravitating towards it.
Absolutely loving this series! Please do more in the future
That was a very detailed and helpful video, thank you! I also wanted to say that I appreciate the fact that you put the ingredients on a full screen for us to pause and check, thank you so much!
I also love the scinic one! I think I will love it even more in the winter
Thank you for testing all these!
Really appreciate your efforts to apply each one properly on different days, thank you ❤
Thank you for all the reviews! I've been using the Scinic one for about 2 years and I really like it. It can get as low as $6 on StyIevana. I have "normal" type skin, dislike fragrance, and live in a mild climate in California, and it's something I can use year-round. The texture is perfect. For a water-resistant SPF, I've been trying the Holika Aloe Soothing Essence (a recent reformulation, $9) and had no issues with it. The texture is a bit similar to Scinic's, but runnier and not as dewy. It has added fragrance, but I can barely smell it. It seems to have the same exact ingredients as a Dr. Jart+ sunscreen, which is interesting.
Your hair looks great!!😍
Scinic sunscreen was recommended by my friend, and I'm loving the fact that it doesn't sting my eyes and it also feels lightweight on my skin after application.
Epic review is right! I have tried the Goodal and Scinic sunscreen and have enjoyed both. I got mine from Olive Young Global because they great price. Both brands had 1+1 deal so I bought 3 of them which gave me 6 full size and so I ended up enjoyed it for a long time.
I'm about to finish my frudia sun essence(such nice texture, but a bit drying when i use in my airconned office) and was just about to purchase that jumiso one😊😊 Will.definitely be checking out the scinic one
Would love to see the top 3 that you tend to go for after a month!
Couple of requests: can you speak to the tackiness, is it for oily or dry skin, does it irritate the eyes? I do love the notes on make-up, the types of sunscreen LOVE IT!!!! thank you so much 🥰
The Scinic one is water resistant (good for water and sport activities) after watching it from Director Pi so you need to double cleanse 😊 tho I haven't tried and the Pyunkang Yul Ato I wonder if it fits in the humid weather.
It would be great if you ever try the RoundLab birch juice sunscreen! Its my HG!
Hi Kelly I have been on a bit of a journey with spf's over the last few years tbh. I used mostly chemical spf's or hybrid spf's for many years, but when I developed rosacea (in addition to lifelong eczema) I started trialling more mineral based spf's. It has been a hit and miss journey despite being a fitzpatrick one skintone. Formulation is indeed everything and I can still wear some chemical spf's, some mineral formulations and some hybrid formulations. Many mineral spf's are actually really drying on the skin and a thick white pasty look doesn't look good on anyone. I have found the newer generation chemical filters less problematic than many of the older filters and being in the UK have good access to a variety of formulations. When I do find something that works I cling to it like a best friend, as I have had so so many misses with the vast majority of hyped spf's. Constantly trialling things that don't work can be really expensive and perhaps the slightly more expensive thing you know you can use is better value in many circumstances. However occasionally trying something else may lead to a new favourite, so I really slowed down trying things over the last year. The other ingredients in the formula can also make a big difference as to whether it works or not. Best wishes. ps you might find the latest spf video by michelle lab muffin interesting when you review more mineral spf's as the one shown is an example of what she was talking about lol. x

@@ambergerhelper7852 I’m using Ultrasun exclusively and have now for quite a while.
I’m super pale, nc10, and still get a white cast from all mineral sunscreens. I gave up on them. I just use a little bit on top of a thicker layer of greasy sunscreen to matte it down

It'd not worth it to make mineral work when there are so many options these days!

Try ultra Violette mineral sunscreen, I have medium skin and it has been a game changer for me it’s not greasy and no white cast
hi kelly! i know u love the omi verdio sun gel but ive been very curious of the mild version one since its only all mineral but only spf30 tho.. i hope u get to try that one
The white cast from the PKY wasn't actually that bad. It looked okay on you. And I like the finish. My biggest concern with mineral sunscreens is that they tend to pill or accumulate on my brow areas and hair line.
I’ve not yet tried any Asian sunscreens 🙈 but last week I ordered, no joke, 8 different ones to try! Abbey Yung loves the Scinic one, so that made it into my cart. I’m excited to try it!

@@yen-8680 I told myself I’d order my top 3 to try, but I simply couldn’t decide! 🙈 Luckily I’ve got a few family members to share with. I ordered from Yesstyle and they haven’t shipped yet. I’ve read some horror stories about their shipping, so who knows when my order will arrive.
I'm kinda curious to test the Scinic and Tocobo sunscreens, but I also missed some other brands in those videos! Like Beauty of Joseon, Etude House (specially the two sunprise versions) and dr. G.
U look great without makeup❤️
Hi Kelly, could you do a video about transitioning from summer to fall skincare? I have super sensitive skin and the transition can definitely cause me some breakouts and sensitivity
Hi Kelly love these sunscreen videos!!! I will try the mineral ones... on a whole another note did you hear the Soon Jung toner has been reformulated... why😭
What is the least shiny finish sun stick you have ever tried? I plan on buying one for reaplication on the go if I'm outside for the whole day...
Super video. Love your hair colour. Can you tell us what dye you used or did you have it done at a salon.
NEWSFLASH: This is Pyunkang Yul’s reformulated version of their original Titanium Dioxide-only sunscreen. During Korean sunscreen-gate, Pyunkang Yul very quietly discontinued their Ato sunscreen (which I was a fan of but knew it wasn’t SPF50 from the get-go), added Zinc Oxide and two chemical filters and then re-released it to the market months later. Yup, Pyunkang Yul was part of Korean sunscreen-gate but no one ever talks about it.
Thank you Kelly for this thorough review of Korean sunscreens. I have ‘hearted’ several on yesstyle and am looking forward to trying them. I am so grateful that we can get the new generation of chemical screens from Korea and wonder why we can’t get them from Europe. Just putting this out into the universe ~ COME ON FDA GET ON THE CHEMICAL SUNSCREEN BANDWAGON!! 💋
P s. The scinic is very senstive skin friendly.. It's also higher on the dewy look level.. Wasn't for me too bad

@@zarintasnimarpa3367 no no not at all It's really great Even has one of the highest UVA ratings among standard Korean daily sunscreens (all are ++++ which usually is 16-17 but this one is 20+) My only issue is that its finish is too glossy for my preference.. Plus collects in my beard

Loving this series… wondering if the sunscreens here are water resistant?
@KellyDriscoll
Жыл бұрын
None of the spfs are in this series unfortunately
Is it true dat d scinic sunscreen in water resistant??????????
It's great to see other sunscreens other than the overrrrr saturated BoJ. Not saying its bad but damn so overly promoted by every youtuber under the sun phew 😅
❤❤
Please do a Sun stick video!!! I love them for reapplication but the ones I’ve tried caused congestion/ breakouts on my sensitive acne prone dehydrated skin
All these look way too dewy for my oily af skin 😭
Pls suggest a matte finish sunscreen without fragrance and essential oil, I'm completely super duper oily skin type

Only one I’ve found close is the Hada Labo UV White gel, but it’s satin finish and has alcohol in it.
Enjoying these reviews. I live in Asia & hence Asian sunscreens are most accessible to me. However I tend to avoid formulations with aluminium salts, just a personal preference, no fear mongering here.
