EPIC Georgia Traverse adventure (full feature length)

Come with me on this truly epic adventure along one of the South East’s most popular overland trails. The Georgia Traverse. It’s a long one, but trust me. You’re gonna want to watch till the end. This is not your uncles dash cam video.

Hahaha, I know exactly where that cemetery is. We found that on our SCAR trip the same way you did. Even did some research on a few of the graves. Really interesting stuff. That climb up to it is pretty fun, couldn't do it in my YJ with Open Diffs, but I was able to do it in my JKU.

Loved this adventure. May want to consider attaching winch to Downed tree and pulling it out of the way rather than wincing over it. Lucky you didn't brake a tie rod.

At first the tree was too long to winch. I finally accepted that I would need to cut it by hand with my hatchet. After that I was able to pull it off the trail. Subsequently forgetting my hatchet and leaving it behind after I got through. Lol

The G in Subligna is hard like in Go. It's Latin and strictly means "Under the wood", but of course the real meaning is "under the trees". I live a couple towns over.

winching over that tree is a quick way to snap a tie rod. winch the tree out of the way next time or bring an electric chainsaw

Trey Mtn is always one of those places I'm not sure to go up when I drive up in that area. Last time I went it rained the night before I was very uhh under prepared in a 99 Silverado Z71 2" lift on 31's at the time. To top it off I had now recovery gear. wasn't the smartest day but, I didn't get stuck

It’s a steel craft brush guard with a built in mount. I bolted a badlands Apex 12k pound winch to it. Maybe $1k total for everything.

Looked like an awesome time. Just wondering, at the end when cutting the kig and then witching it to break that tree. Could you have used a snatch block to a another tree and used the winch to pull it out of the way? For a moment I thought you were going to mess up the front suspension. Less energy on you if you could have but from the video, maybe I couldn't have seen, you just couldn't have. Anyhow. Glad you completed it and had a good time. This is on my list!!

After watching the footage of my first winch attempt I noticed several mistakes that I made. My winch angle was too sharp. Tire placement was horrible. When I got out and looked at it that last time I knew I needed a different approach. Yeah, a double line pull may have helped. But a better tree that was more in line with my front end would have been best.
