If I had to guess, it's because you have restricted water access and a short season. I'm in central Florida, the fish bite almost all year,but almost all the lakes are residential locked. I can't imagine what it's like where waterfront is scarce and the seasons are intense..

I'm so glad that you also included misses which happens so many times. It's just a part of frog fishing when you set the hook and observe the frog flying past your head at Mach 1.

Dope that you purposefully cast onto the bank and drag it down to make it look like a frog jumping into the water. Plenty of bass sit at the banks edge waiting for something like that to happen and it's super awesome!

I weedless rig big curly tail worms and do this from a kayak. It looks like a snake slithering. The look like orcas when they hit it.

Yes, in the mouth of a creek / river ..I use spinner baits as well ...the more clear the water is the better..try it good luck

Spent a lot of time at my local swamp. Saw some of that in life. Biggest I caught 22' @2# in WA.
