Goodness, if you'd been around in the 1980's when I was frequenting them you would have seen 99% comic tables at a con. Thanks for sharing David, see you on your live streams!

It's fascinating and sometimes sad too see how conventions have evolved over the years!

Good afternoon David. Well that was a different Con. I am watching Comic's Den coverage of Mega Con. What a difference. But I do prefer you coverage and It was not long. I am never going to make it to a con, so it was great to see. I look forward to your chat with Harley Yee. I know he used to come out to the cons in Australia pre Covid. There was some great stuff on display, and that dealer that had the walk in immersive Comic display had a brilliant display, but he looked so despondent. Great work Sir Cheers Al The Goldkeyfourcolotkidownunda

Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed the coverage. Your support means a lot to me, it's comments like this that make creating content all worthwhile. Sadly didn't get chance to catch up with Harley again that day as it got very busy, but I did see him again at WonderCon; hopefully one day he'll potentially make it back over to Australia.

Good afternoon David Again my mate CharlieDogg was telling me about the Harley Yee visits back in the day . I was always a massive Gold Key and Charlton Fan, although of course Charlton had the far more mature story and a band of great creators, always had a soft spot foe Sanho KimDay. Cheers Al@@StillOnly35c

Emerald con is one of the little cons I want to attend at some point.

Nice choice! Despite low comic book dealers, Emerald City Comic Con is still a fun show.

Thank you for taking us along! Its sad that there were not that many comic book dealers there. They also seemed kinda dull like they didn't want to sell comics. I'd would have been more engaging with you and you seem very personable. It would have been a great time to discuss the business with you. Its nice that you listed all the dealers with the time slots. Very nice. I heard a voice at the beginning asking about Charltons. Was that you? Do you collect Charlton Comics? I enjoyed the walk around the con floor. Great Judge Dredd by Eric Powell. I had Jim Calafiore draw Dredd for me as a gift to a buddy of mine. Dredd is such a great character. Do you attend the Baltimore Comic Con? Thanks for a nice video. Take care and stay well. Best\Steve

Thank you for your feedback, glad you enjoyed the video and the walk around the con floor even despite the lack of comic book dealers. On the Charltons ask, yes, that was me; I'm currently on the hunt for high grade copies especially those from the 70s. Thanks as well for the compliment on the Judge Dredd sketch, I loved it and it was so serendipitous to see Eric and be able to purchase it. Finally on Baltimore Comic, I went there last year and considering it again this year. Are you going?

@@StillOnly35c Awesome that you are collecting Charlton comics. That's my wheelhouse as well. As for Baltimore, yes, I am going. Love that show. It's the only big con that I attend. I'd love to see a video of your Charlton comics. Thanks for the wonderful content. Take care and stay well. Best/Steve

23:15 I am definitely missing something here. They have Conan #1 9.6 $4500 right next to a JiM 83 9.6 $1800? That has to be a reprint or possibly a foreign edition? I see no .12 cent price on it either. But would a reprint be that pricey? Anyway, I feel like I've heard only good things about this Con mostly from indie creators, so I thought maybe it was much more comics-centric with a larger alt press presence. But it looks like a very standard con these days and all things considered it has a decent number of comics retailers at least. However, considering how sparsely-attended their booths look you can understand why these cons have been taken over by all manner of pop culture merch, toys and clothing. I would have thought rapacious comics fans would be creating a moshpit around Harley Yee's booth, but there was maybe one person despite all those amazing comics. That made me sad. That said, HeroesCon in Charlotte is a rather large con that remains heavily focused on comics. The pop culture stuff and C-list actors are present but in much smaller numbers. At least they were in the past. I'm booked to attend in June for the first time in 15 years so I may be in for a rude awakening, but the word seems to be that it remains one of the brighter lights among true comics conventions.

That's the Golden Record Reprint, so you are right here. Those books, whilst impressive, were somewhat overpriced. On the Con, it's in ReedPops best interests to pump up the events, but the comics presence was low especially considering it's supposed to be a "comic con." Heroes Con is still one of the best events and Cons I have ever been too and can't wait to attend again this year. Hopefully we'll bump into each other there.

@@StillOnly35c Ahh, of course! I have seen one of those from another channel's con report recently. I didn't even think of that because those books were usually wider than usual pamphlets. Very pricey but still a wee bit more affordable than the AF 15 next to it ;) I no that the term "Comic Con" attached to whatever name or city is now just a marketing term that draws mostly people with no interest in comics. They are just pop culture cons, but we can still lament that somehow comics have somehow been seated near the bathrooms at their own events while toys and anime are effectively seated at the Chef's table. I'm not sure how HeroesCon does it but they have held the fort even after the Wizard-ification of cons. Yeah, by all means. I already booked my room but there's always a 50/50 (higher actually) chance that I'll find some excuse not to go and cancel on to regret it later. But if I see you walking around filming I'll definitely say "Hi."

Thank you for the walkthrough on this year's ECCC and for providing links to the comic companies. To see so few comic dealers at a comic convention is a huge disappointment, and I hope the convention owners can increase those numbers in the future. Until then, I will not pay to attend this show.
