Welcome to my most epic diy chicken coop build! In this episode, we will be building the run door. A dutch door with spring hinges that swings both ways. I am building a 8 × 32 coop/run filled with clever ideas and options for my flock. This will be in several parts and I'll post a material list with the last episode.

    I THOUGHT it was going to be a lot of work. Maybe because I have never really built anything, everything was difficult for me but the door came together pretty quickly!... Pleased to meet you!!!

    Thanks for this! When measuring the wood, should I take into account hinge space and space to allow the door to open? So if my door frame is 34 inches wide, how long should those pieces be?

    Thank YOU for watching!!! Yes, you definitely need to leave space all the way around and for the hinges. You should mock up your hinge to see what you need on that side. I would leave 1/4 to 1/2 inch on all of the other sides. I would mock up your final measurement at several heights on the door opening before you go ahead and build ther door too.     Haha. Thanks... I KEPT on saying pocket square so many times!!! One thing I REALLY wish I did was keep track of how much I spent. I really have no idea. Also, there is material that I bought that is on videos you guys haven't seen yet. (Coming soon) is say at the VERY least 3k but probably much more. Thanks for watching!!!
