Not sure about chicken dances but I always loved Irish Micky Ward's left hook to the liver knockouts/knockdowns because of the delayed reaction, like when he put "Thunder" Gatti (RIP) down in their second fight, I think.

The ironic thing about it is it's their fighting spirit that causes the dance. The shot (s) would normally put a person straight down, but a fighter's mentality to keep fighting causes the body to momentarily fight against itself, producing the dance. Ultimately, the brain wins out and the power to the legs is cut.

It's usually from shot to the side of the head. The brain bounces back and forth from side to side, hampering the motor cortex, while leaving the forebrain working pretty clearly. It's why it feels like you're fine but the body wants to have a dance-off with itself.

I'm man enough to admit I did the Chicken Dance once and its the craziest feeling. You feel like your ok but your legs won't do what you want them to do. Ive been fighting for the past 8 yrs and there are ALOT of fighters thats put on a dance contest where they would be the only one dancing. Whether they're man enough to admit it is another question. The good fighters learn from it but even then ANY fighter can get hit at any time by a lucky punch. I have to admit its a pretty embarrassing thing to have to go through because it tks ya awhile to live it down. You've just given your training partners and friends great ammo to use against you. Until it eventually wears off or until they do a dance of their own and you can then turn the tides so to speak..haha

Cuz Montell was getting with him on today's scale in the first fight. bacc then and in actuality, Roy beat that man's ass. Then they disqualified him for the whole fight cuz Roy was dumb and wanted to finish the fight for style points and hit Montell in the bacc of the head while Montell was on one knee as the ref was supposed to step in and stop it but hesitated. At that point, Roy should've been docced a point. He got disqualified and his first loss. That messed with his legacy and his money/ability to feed his kids the way he sees fit....Montell HAD A NEGATIVE 55 CHANCE OF WINNING AGAINST ROY AFTER THAT. Roy shoulda fought Tarver after that. If he would fought sugar shane bacc then, it woulda been a better fight and better legacy. If Tito Trinidad didn't have marital problems from cheating, plus 9/11...Tito wouldn't have loss that fight. If buster douglas mom didn't die a week before the fight with Tyson, and Mike wasn't down here in Miami on 15th Avenue with Ike and bo didley snorting the snort before flying to Tokyo, then Tyson wouldn't have loss then.

When you get knocked down you get stunned for a little and you don't realize how long you been down for so instinct is to get up since it might be close to the 10 count. Since you're stunned you're also not thinking about waiting for your head to clear for a second or 2 to see where the ref is at and if you do wait that 1 or 2 seconds that could end up in a knockout from a 10 count.
