Most of these guys were there at Bigs as well so they know what went down.
Wow, you are a natural at this documentary making/filming/editing, or at least you make it seem that way! You captured it all fantastically, the human aspect and interviews were great, your enthusiasm and support for the runners was amazing (as were the runners of course). They absolutely need to invite you back again to cover it next year! (not sure if you’d want to go through all this again though?! 😂) congratulations on this excellent piece.

Wow, thank you! Really appreciate that Kathryn. It is a labour of love and I hope my enthusiasm for the event comes across in the presentation.
This is so well done. The way you've captured the runner's stories and personalities is brilliant. Looks like an amazing event.
That was absolutely incredible to watch, I actually felt like I was there, so enthralling - amazingly captured Stephen thanku so much for sharing such an incredible race with us, and not to forget to mention these amazing athletes simply awe inspiring 🙏

Hi Clair. Yes these runners are amazing. They just keep going lap after lap. It's madness
This is the best documentation of a Backyard Ultra I've ever seen, and I've seen them all. The editing, the interviews, the camera work, the commentary. Perfect! Great job! watching this in preparation for my next Backyard, haven't done one in a couple of years so this perfectly reminded me of what it's like and what I need.
Fantastic Stephen, I was completely engrossed in this and captivated by all the athletes. These athletes are truly amazing . Thanks for capturing it for us.

What an amazing, inspiring and entertaining journey. Thank you so much for this video , what an absolute gift 🫶🏻
This was a great film Stephen, you've really been putting in the filming and vollie hours lately! I've only done one race that was similar in format, which was 'Norm's Helium Loops' in Devon. Only 5.5km per lap but 250 mtrs of vert on each one! I lasted 7 laps. I do know from E24 that running loops and seeing your base regularly definitely requires a different type of mental strength. I'd love to give this one a crack.

Thanks Ian. There's definitely something about looped courses that helps to break a run down into manageable chunks. Although for some it can get very monotonous.
I LOVE the coverage of the Backyard Ultra... but the interviews BEFORE made the video. Amazing job, and thank you!!!!

It’s basically a loop. The backyard ultra is so named because the original takes place in someone’s back yard. So it’s a loop around their back yard. So one loop is a yard.

Hi Stephen, well yes it would be of you were pacing or offering assistance of any kind. However, I am part of the media team with no affiliation to any runner, not pacing or offering assistance. Same as when you see camera men running alongside runners at Western States before pacers are allowed.
