I am a police officer who works nights on street patrol in a busy city. I carry several types of lights while on duty. Good lights are absolutely crucial to working at night. I have always been impressed with Nitecore and their lights. Powerful lights like this are exactly what is needed on events like auto crashes, traffic stops or search’s of areas. This would be an ideal tool that is compact, easy to carry for long periods of time, and powerful.

I’m a firefighter and this would help me on emergency calls. Either search and rescue or looking for down wires and everything in between. A good flashlight is essential in this line of work.

@Mr Green I already have a nice light for my helmet but it’s more for close illumination. Great for extrications but not covering areas for wires or searching etc.

I work in Events/Event Production, with my work carry being comprised of tactical lights for quick access. Up until now I've carried lights with a longer throw. However, I've learned from your series of Nitecore lights, a floody light like the P10ix or this TM9K may be more of what I need since most of my work spans a large, close-medium range, area. If I'm doing events in the evening or working indoors where I need to survey cables, dark cargo/inventory areas, or command the attention of a crowd of attendees-- something like the TM9k or even P10ix/20ix may actually benefit me more than a light with a lot of throw.

Lights are one of the most powerful self defense items you can carry, not to mention useful utility wise. The great flood beam almost works like a shotgun to ensure your target it hit.

This is awesome! I work from home and my friends and I have established a Prepper Club during the pandemic. We believe that because of lockdowns accompanied by the usual disasters + emergency situations, we should make sure that we're all prepared. This being said, security is a top priority in our community so the TM9K Tac would be a great lighting solution. I love nitecore and I already have the NU25 and LR12 so this would be a great addition to my bag.

It can become addictive to watch you present flashlights :)

I'm a patrol officer covering abandoned buildings in Singapore and this would be very useful as we face unknown threats that may occur during work

Love your videos. Very informative and detailed. Current work may sometimes require to be deployed at night where it can be quite rowdy. Definitely a big step up from lumintop tool AA 2.0

As a night time fuel truck driver, unloading in some sketchy neighborhoods in Albuquerque, this light would be great for those times when I get approached by individuals that often surprise me out of the shadows.

I cherish my light over th3m all. It is my best most useful tool. Not only for searching and observing but also for self defense! Will the warranty cover the battery replacement for TM9K, because all batteries will lose capacity over time, and what is the estimated cost for "Out of Warranty" battery replacement?

Working as a project engineer overnight on a huge rail job down in Texas!! We are working in the middle of nowhere so all work overnight requires up to 50 light plants.

My situation are really similar as yours I have SRT7i p20ix LR70 tiki300

I live in a city and walk a few miles every night. Some areas are seriously dark while others have lighting which diminishes the effectiveness of a hand held light. This would be great to not only blind a perp or perps in both lighting conditions but also in identifying the target and weapons they may have. 👍🏻

got my p20i since i saw your video , its with me EVERYDAY . Most of the time i'm working solo , i need to send stock to difference shop during 3am - 7am , by that time im solo on the street too , as a Malaysian , our safety level is not that high ... i keep my p20i in my pocket everyday just in case someone try to attack me or something . Luckily i'm safe until now , but TM9K will be a very huge upgrade if i need to deal with more then 1 person !

I do walk a few km every night. This light would provide me with the perfect flood angle. Compared to a narrow beam light I currently use. I like your videos for their high level of information, and the clarity of your statements, while describing the various features of the Nitcore products.

Great information and examples. I am a Maintenance supervisor for a school and find myself constantly needing a light to finish my jobs. Non work uses would include the following: field scanning for coyotes and Bobcats and nightly use for checking on livestock. Also would be great for our car because we live 180 miles from the nearest hospital and Walmart.

Bought this light after watching your review, it's full of great info, thanks. TM9K works well. The first time you press tailcap after being off for a while, it takes what feels like a second to wake up and turn on. Once you've turned it off and on it's similar to a tk12 or a tk16 for tail cap speed. Something to keep in mind if you need instant on, I assume it's to prevent battery drain when not in use.

Yeah that’s something I noticed. I was wondering if I had a defective one. But yeah when I havent used it in a while the first click takes about half a second, the rest of the clicks are instant.

I like his honesty.

This would be a beast to use compared to the i4000r which is already legendary. Being a combat medic, it is crucial to see the surrounding especially outfield when a "man down" happens. This will allow me to assess the environment and spot casualties easily.

I'm a tile specialist Installer, I'm currently using the discontinue IRP 4000 Nitecore, I use high power light for cracks detection. It's my everyday carry.

Im just imagining two people with nitcore lights having a light fight.

Nice flashlight, great review. I'm a night watch for my neighborhood (my patrol environment including street houses, soccer field and school complex). I have been carrying nitecore tip for about 4 years for my rounds, good flashlight, but the switch is failing me now, the tm9k tac would be a huge leap of performance. this is very useful in checkpoints during lockdowns. since some vehicles dont tend to slow down in barricades even when its lighted. also we cant see them inside there tinted windows.

Hi I am a law enforcement officer attached to specialised unit in Trinidad and Tobago we perform several functions inclusive search and rescue, narcotic interdiction and other operations.I environments I work in are both urban and rural, and a flood light of this caliber would be useful in both tactical and search and rescue operations.The particularly appreciate the waterproof feature and the tactical ring that can be useful in securing the flashlight during hand to hand combat.I also like the fact it can be charged fully in 3 hrs.btw I enjoyed the presentation and the indepth beam shots.

I live in a rural area where we have a small farm consisting of few different types of domestic animals. I help my uncle repairing barns, coop for hen and sheep pen, all close-up. And we count our sheep and chicken again in close distance, and carry hay bales for them evening and night, and we do that using a higher intensity long distance flashlight. Nitecore TM9K TAC would definitely compete against it with it's floody beam and high lumen output, helping us doing all that work in our farm.

Finally the perfect flood light for my aircraft inspection job.

Is it normal for there to be a lag to turn on before each use? Like half a second for both buttons.

I work in the mining industry. So the equipment that I operate are a few stories tall. So it would help to have a super bright flash light to do my walk around inspections when working night shift!

I would love to see what holsters you guys use for this Flashlight, I currently just bought mine to replace my 5 year old LedLenser P7R. Also, I like the capability of zooming your beam in and out. But only the P7R Signature has this capability but it seems like Old tech. Are there any other lights that has this feature?

Technically you can, but the flood beam won’t be of much use on a long range rifle, and because the tailcap can’t be removed you can’t attach a remote switch

hi I work as a security guard and as a doorman at a nightclub. I am currently using nitecore p20 v2. but could use some more power / light both as guard work but also at the nightclub as there is a lot of trouble and fights. so could well use the trick you talked about blending an opponent with the flashlight.

I really feel his comment about the switch positioning. I have the Noctigon KR4 when I really want was the d4v2 style. After using it for years now I have the D4k. There are really times that the tail switch is much better than the side switch.

What is the life cycle? I assume once the battery is done the flashlight is trash?

Excellent video and presentation. With that said besides having to purchase a new light, what options do I have in regards to the mortality of the built-in battery at the end of its useful life cycle? I’m guessing that this flashlight has a maximum of 500 cycles of charge /discharge? Appreciate your response.

It’s very much the same as an iPhone, over time the battery will start to lose capacity with frequent recharge. It won’t end suddenly after 500 recharge cycles; it’s a rough estimate. In terms of flashlights on average it should last you a good 2-3 years before capacity drops.

It will be better to hold if it can be a bit longer. This has amazing lumen! Surprising bright. It will be very useful for hiking at night I guess. I can easily find out what's in front of you from a distance and you can blind someone or animal who's going to attack you as well.

There’s no plastic holster at the moment, only the nylon one. Am looking for a QuickDraw alternative too.
