EP76 - Re-building Doors and installing hardware, FJ40, BJ40, HJ45, HJ47 / PART 1

After getting the doors painted it was time to bring the doors back to life, installing the windows and all new Hardward, Locks, window winders, felts and bailey channel., and using Chemtools R1 to clean up the chome parts and R44 a Thick Film Lubricant which also gives a superior corrosion protection.

    So nice to pop into this channel! We have 2 BJ42 1984 in Greenland, they are on the road, but we have plans to do some restoration at some point. Thank you for sharing your restoration!

    Any concerns on rust with the damping adhesive sheets? I've seen other restoration videos that remove similar dampener sheets revealing rust nightmares.

    Can you tell me why my driver's side and passenger side windows don't roll up after I rebuilt everything on them is it possible I have the wrong windows on each side

    Hi bud what thickness are the steel panels in the fj40s as i will be needing to buy some sheet steel to repair sections

    I try and get 1.2mm cold rolled sheet. I have used 1mm when there was not 1.2mm available at the shop. I found it easier to shape the tight corners

    I'm not sure in was on one of my damaged doors, may have been adapted from a 60 series cruiser. But looked cool I swapped it out.
