Ep49 - The "Laverne" Boho-Style Leather-Wrap Bracelet

Here's another bracelet in the Boho style I love so much. It can be made using Leather, Pleather, Cord, or even a lightweight wire. I tried to find out if this wrap had a proper name already but couldn't find one so I'm calling it the "Laverne" wrap. Find out why in the video. If you are using Leather for the entire thing, make sure your bead holes will fit, otherwise use a cord to string them. In this video, I use a button for the clasp. Stay tuned for my next Tentacle Tip if you want to try a slide clasp.

I was wondering if you had named it Laverne from the TV show and then when I saw the leather formed a cursive “L,” before you had even explained it, I knew that was it! Haha, I loved that show!! I’m not old enough to have watched it when it first came out, but watched it and Happy Days in rerun form. We have a channel on our cable that still runs the reruns of both Laverne & Shirley and Happy Days, but also the Brady Bunch! My husband and I love watching them! This is a really cool design! You just need something to hold the bracelet ends so you can use both hands to weave.
How do you start and finish the bracelet you made with the z beads?

Since there's no button clasp, I tie 2 strands to the loom side by side. Then it works the same way for the weaving. I then make a slide clasp to finish. I talk about that in the very next video.
