Interesting thing about the color black. Benjamin Franklin did the following experiment: he put patches of different colored cloth on a snowbank and then took a long walk. When he returned he noticed the black patch had sunk deepest into the snowbank because that color had absorbed the most energy from the sun while the white patch hadn't sunk at all.

I find that the tools I need come to me when I need them. I found a small aluminum cauldron at an antique shop for $3. It was actually a cooking pot with 3 legs and a handle. My athame is simply a letter opener from a relative.. free! Nothing fancy just functional ❣️ I try to be eco friendly and thrift my items

I liked this video. You could make a part 2 of this and discuss tools that aren't as popular like black mirrors, runes, pendulums, and spiritboards.

I have 2 wands. I made them both. Original wand is copper tubing filled with crushed quartz capped off with a hematite canochon on one end and a smoky quartz point on the pther end and wrapped in deer hide I tanned myself. Wand #2 is an arrow I made myself the wayy Tribal ancestors would have done. Great comtent Blessed Be Brother

Not strange at all. You were born with it. So was I and I don't consider myself a witch. For me it was simply hidden due to societal programming or something. If you feel connected to your true self I say run with it! Enjoy!

As a child always have bought or have told my family, if you're going to gift me i want all of the above and more. I have naturally worked my own spells. My father always would tell me you're a natural born witch. Also being the daughter of Oshun when iniated i understood more. I was saved into this world by Magick, by my father. And I emotionally cry since i was a child when I speak or think, or see my ancestors or work with my tools. Do you find that normal for me to do? I've never felt like I belong here on earth. And have so many spiritual gifts i cry of out of no where, of the love and overwhelming feeling as well. Great video! Blessed Be 🖤

Love this. Baby witch here. I made my wand, runes, rattle, and chalice. Paid way too much for my singing bowl but it was the only one that spoke to me...the tone was perfect. During an up coming thunder storm, fly a copper wire aluminum foil kite from the top of an oak tree. Best create a rock circle around the tree first. Size of the circle varies with just around the base of the tree or out to its max branch length. Don't be surprise if a woman show up out of nowhere asking you what you are doing.

Thank you for explaining the Holy Grail concept.

I am finding my way back in my 30s. And in my teens. My BOS was a book i would write all my spells. If the spell went to a place i might not of liked or was done with that. I would burn that page. If it worked well I would write a follow up how I thanked it on what moon. And that Magick was locked in that book. That book got stronger as i went on. My parents where unhappy with the choice I made so I hid my faith to make them happy. This will be a future method i plan on useing. However I am still learning my way. And what methodology I want follow. I found you in that search. However I appreciate your time and helping me rediscover what I feel the most connected to again.

Hi as part of the British traditional we also used coven candles. Each member has a candle in ordinance with the color of astrology and planets. For example I’m an Aries so my candle is red whereas someone else might be yellow or brown. We typically hand them to the members after circle and light from our working candle. Then they are added to the alter for our workings. We also use a horn to call in quarters. Thank you for your channel. It’s informative and easily breaks down the aspects of practice.

Love this! Thank you! My understanding is that a BOS is more of a magical journal (filled with experiences, e.g. how your magic worked, what were the circumstances, etc.) and kept private whereas a grimoire is filled with magical information and research and can be viewed by others if you wish. Kind of like the grimoire is your textbook (filled with facts) and the BOS is your workbook. Though originally, I thought they were one in the same. Honestly, I have had a hard time keeping two books.

In my belief system, one of the most important tools not mentioned is the Witch's belt/cord/cingulum - it is tied around the waist, can denote rank in groups, and helps to define the Circle. As a singlular straight strand that delineates the Circle its symbolic aspect cannot be understated (in my practice).

I use a Green Candle for The Earth Mother Goddess and Blue Candle for The Horned Sky Father God.

Love is the law.... 🦄🧚🏻‍♂️🧚🏻‍♀️ And when it comes to tools I prefer to make them myself from the mountains/forests I was raised around/in. As well as finding my crystals/stone's. I'm a different kinda witch however I do have Pagan, Wiccan, Druid, and Satanist friends. But I fallow a different path, I enjoy studying an understanding all religions. But frolicking around the woods in nothin more than my Daisy chain's and my Rocky raccoon baby🧚🏻‍♂️🦄🧚🏻‍♀️🧙🏻‍♀️ or meditate in the old black walnut Grove just down the road.

Wand - Air - think of it -- from a tree.. wind blows the branches - Sword/Athame - fire - its forges in fire - that being said - An elder told me that when Waite was having the tarot deck printed there was literally a typo and thats why it was reversed to make a wand represent fire. Also its rumored it was done purposely to keep a bit of "mystery" to the craft as more people became familiar with witchcraft since tarot decks became popular. really enjoying your videos

Witchcraft uses puts the Athame with Fire, in Ceremonial Magick circles it's associated with Air. Vice versa with the wand. But again..... None of it is set in stone.... Tomato, tomoto

I live in the Southern Hemisphere, so the correspondences for the directions and seadons are different for me. It was difficult to come to terms with this at first, as I was born and lived in the Northern Hemisphere as a child, but I have chosen to follow the energy of my Southern hemisphere location and seasons. I also work with the Southern Hemisphere path of the Sun as well. For me, it is about a deeper understanding of the seasons and location, not just following standard Northern Hemisphere directions. I am really enjoying your channel and knowledge. Thank you.🔮

wow, this was def. thorough. But I use a buck knife to cut my herbs and only for my herbs. But I liked this vid, because it was so thorough, don't find that too much within some of these types of teachings.

I have a masonic sword that I use in ritual that was gifted me by an ex copper. (I have all sorts of weird and interesting friends!) He was one of Britain's most infamous alien abductees, and lost his job for speaking out about it. Although I follow a shamanic path which includes drums and flutes I live with a witch and learned to use a sword Athame and a Challis plus I use crystalsand herbs in my box ...... living near Glastonbury UK is easy to get most of these

I'm a bit late to the video coming out and commenting party but I wanted to say in regards to the snuffing out vs blowing out candles debate (I'm just a folksy/folklore inspired kind of eclectic witch with about 20 years of experience so take what I've got to say with a grain of salt as I'm not classically trained as a Wiccan) I think of blowing out candles like we do for birthday cakes. Of blowing out the candles to send your wish out into the world (not with the thought of blowing the energy away in a negative way.) So when it comes to spell candles or candles I use as I pray to various deities or to my ancestors I'll blow out because I believe I'm sending that energy/those thoughts out (though sometimes for spells I let them burn themselves out if I want the energy to finish itself sort of thing. To conclude on its own. So really it depends on what I'm specifically working towards determines what I'll do with the candle.) But when it comes to candles representing the elements or deities candles that are just present during spell casting, as representing them and not specifically prayed over, I'll snuff out because it feels more respectful somehow? Like, the candles are lit to represent those energies being there, and snuffing them is me thanking them and asking them to depart rather than me aggressively blowing them away sort of thing. Anyway, so that's my two cents when it comes to the raging debate over to snuff or to blow

A few years a back lighting hit the phone pole beside my house I'll never forget it becuase the pole it's only about 50 meter away from the house the clap of thunder was so loud the entire house felt as if it there was an earth if at least that how I'll explain it. I shout up from my sleep in panic as to what it was and then not even a moment later a hear somthing land on the floor and start scattering its claws I quickly relised it was our dog leo he had been sleep on my bed and this was before he lost his hearing he was terrified. I miss leo everday since we had to get him put down in september 2020 old age in dogs for him it came with arthritis. Loss of hearing and bolcancer. He was beautiful back english labradoor and was the most dignified dog you would of ever met. Anyway when the mentioning of branch that would of been struck my lightening. I relised that when the pole was replace it was never actually take out of the field so today I ran up and wasent propear with an axe to try and get a split from but did take some Barck from it and after all these years I dont know how or why but them smell of burning like an electrical burt. Like from the lightening but its quite a nice sence it reminds me of the sent of petrol when I was a child.

I think somewhere in that mess you wrote, there is a good story. However, whether it's "just the internet, or not, you should use some goddamn punctuation. It was really difficult to read and there are online dictionaries for the words you can't spell.

This is amazing...when I started my practice, my house fairy said please share some beer on your alter and skip any metals! I was about to get REAL! Now all my cast iron and metals are not on the alter and I use crystals as wands

Hedge witch here I 9 years ago I initiated Wiccan skyclad my offering was leaves from a tree that had fallen of the tree I am A lone shaman healer that spirit is my spouse partner lover we do row sometimes

I use yellow for air orange for fire white for water green for earth sliver for the goddess gold for the god

And in the film Excalibur

I keep many journals but only one BOS I have on occasion though taped in information on pages to add to my BOS and also will add pages over others to hide some ideas too personal to share

I use red or brown for the god and white for the goddess. But I use black candles for Hecate.

I am still gathering all of my tools because I have packed up alot of my tools. I made a few of my tools but I need to buy a few of the tools that I am getting.
