Also it's hilarious that Herbie leaks oil out of the entire opposite side of the car of where the oil is. Purely out of spite

I had that exact same thought, it doesn't make sense to me

Love Dean Jones! I've had a crush o him since I was 9. This episode is one of my favorites and quite the interesting credits. Andrea Howard as Diane Darcy. I actually prefer her to Julie Sommars who played her very cold. Andrea isn't remembered for much other than as Agent 22 in The Nude Bomb. That was the theatrical reunion film for "Get Smart." However, it did not include any of the original show creators and it was a real bomb. ONly DOn Adams appeared and it was likely for the money. The film aired on broadcast tv as The Return of Maxwell Smart. Alejandro Rey is well known for his role of Carlos Ramirez, the casino owner who is always helping out sister Betrille in The Flying Nun. Bill "David Banner/Hulk" Bixby directed this episode and the show was produced by Kevin Corcoran, better known as Moochie from the Mickey Mouse Club serials. This series of Herbie was somewhat more dramatic than the movies. Kind of like when they rebooted The Brady Bunch in the 1990s and everyone in the family had some sort of drama. HOwever, I enjoy it. I never watched it when it originally aired but saw it in the 80s on The Disney Channel. Thanks for posting all 5 episodes.

She's a good actress but I agree her character's motivations are completely ridiculous and erratic

It could be. I don't see why they would build an entirely new hydraulic Herbie for one shot.
