When people ask me why I speak Esperanto, I say first that it's personally fulfilling and enriches my life, and second, that it allows me to directly and immediately participate in the kind of cooperative world I want to see (no matter how many other people are ready to join me.)

everyone who is interested in being a good writer and mastering aspects of language and literature should learn Esperanto, understanding Esperanto allows to better understand the grammar of our native language, it also allows to write and express oneself in a better way.

世界语基本上已经成为小圈子人群自娱自乐的工具了。就像上面那位朋友回复的那样，可以充实自我。剩下就没什么用了。

I do enjoy Esperanto, I just wish the culture was a bit more inclusive , the culture of korektemo for example, an obsession with correcting learners is a turn off for would be esperantists, people want to naturally chat and that involved making mistakes. most of us I'd think spend most of our time speaking, online, maybe it's different at the kunvenoj and kongresoj.

I think this has become a problem now with the sudden influx of new learners who start out with internet courses as opposed to coming up through in-person Esperanto meetings. An earlier exposure to Esperanto culture and the Esperanto community meant that learners were able to understand how the "correction culture" works and that it's only meant to help and not to shame or intimidate learners. I know that there are some people who are a little over-enthusiastic with the correcting thing, but it's never meant to embarass learners. I have definitely changed how and how often I correct new learners compared to previously because of this after-the-internet change.

问题是你就算学会了，别人不会那也是没法交流啊，白搭啊，要是说去国外旅游时候能当万能语言的话那另当别论
