In this episode we add the Amendments to the soil and till them in. We check on how the plants are doing for the week and install a fence around the patch.

10/10 on your methods. I have a bagger on my tractor so I'd have used this year's 1st pile of hot yard-waste-compost instead of tilling. One 80%-grassed acre can produce over 12 cubic yards of compost & bagging vacuums up unwanted lawn-seeds. In the 1800s they'd use 3/4-acre of compost-crops/cow-manure per 1/4-acre vegetable-garden.

Great videos Mike - Keep up the good work! Two quick questions. 1. NPK on the outside of your totes, are you fertilizing each (Nitrogen, Phosouphrous, Potash)separately and from each tote? And just adjusting the ratio throughout the season? 2. Did you spray paint the outside of the totes black to keep the light out to cut down algae throughout the season? any special paint to increase opacity? Thaks in advance.

Mark the NPK on the tanks is just for fun, but yes typically I am more focused on potassium during fruit growth. You are correct on the black for the algae growth, alot of people think the black is for heat but a clear tote will heat faster due to greenhouse effect. Use a paint thats made specifically for plastic, they are formulated different, they bond to plastic better as well as more important contain a flex agent that keeps the paint from cracking from flexing of the plastic.

Why the hoop house?
You said you added a micro nutrient blend, is that just a blend of what you specially needed or did you buy a pre blend and if so where did you get it from? I bought mine and added already but I bought separately based on soil test.
