    Timing belt engine. Mine was done at 150000 miles when I purchased it. Owner said belt was in great shape. I believe Toyota recommends replacing at 100000 miles. Necessary to change water pump, thermostat and radiator at this time. Rear lift gate latch/handle will break. The "D" for drive gear light bulb will go out. Back window will function will break. The vehicle will go 1 million miles. Best vehicle on the planet. I used strut spacers so I could clear 265 tires. Aloha!

    Good morning Josh! Just ripped through your videos last night and finished up this morning. We have twin Sequoias (mine is an 03 though)! Same color, SR5, etc. Anyways, I picked mine up a few months ago and I love that thing! Your videos are fantastic and I'm really pumped to get this project rolling now! The only thing missing is the money 😂😂 As soon as I've got the cash I'm going to go crazy on your site. I wish I could express just how appreciative I am that you took the time to make these videos with such clear instructions and direction. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the future holds! I'm going to send you a photo of me playing in some mud. No mods except a bull bar but I figured you'd appreciate the twin

    Great video! I will be doing a 2 1/2 to 3 inch lift in the front with diff. 1" drop and I like your lift in the back with the the new springs and the second shocks it looks good. I will I want to go up just a little bit more then yours is. So she's at least level in the front with the back maybe a little less. But would like to keep mud flaps on. I have a 2002 SR5 with leather seats Burgundy and gray fender exits. Will check out the wheels with -6 rake on them. I like the copper tires better then BFs.

    Dude the guy I bought my Sequoia from pretty much copied exactly what you did lol. He kept the rear end airbags and did the ride height on the bottom ring on the front suspension then put ) 315 (34.4 inch) KO2's with the Fuel Anza rims with the -6mm offset 17's. Rubbed on the upper control arm and frame on the inside and a bit on the fender wheel on the outside. Got some 255/80/17's on it now. They look so much dinkier, but no rub and it drives amazing now. Just wanted to let you know, you influenced some choices here.

    Hey Josh, great vid. Just had a quick question as I just picked up a 2002 Sequoia and Im looking to raise it a bit. I was checking out the Daystar 2.5" Body Lift Kit with strut and coil spacers and was wondering your take on it? Wanting to fit the same 33'' tires without breaking the bank. Thanks!

  • @NomadChad
    @NomadChad4 жыл бұрын

    What would you suggest for both street and off road? I literally know nothing about tires unless they are tires that go on 18 wheelers. I am about to purchase a very nice 1st gen sequoia. My plan is to haul a power washing trailer with 2 200 gallon water jugs and some other pressure washing equipment. I want to be able to get decent fuel mileage but still have the capability to go off road.

    I just made it down payment 15 grand for parts getting all the best crap getting my Sequoia gen 1 05 lifted I'm having a three and a half inch lift 35 inch tires getting new fenders that flare out getting a suspension. It's probably going to run me around 22000 to 23,000 I'm getting Jeep Summit 4 by 4 in Prescott Arizona to do it they are higher-priced and everyone else but the quality is unbeatable you definitely get what you pay for these guys... they will definitely be doing some cutting on it especially in the back because they can't find a rear fender that will fit so they will have to cut it out because 35 inch tires won't work without cutting.

    Josh, Thanks for the video! I have a 2002 SR5 w/ 140K miles and the ride is harsher now compared to when I first got it more than 10 yrs ago. Do think by changing the struts/shocks and changing all the bushings w/ polyurethane will soften thr ride?? Thanks for your help.

    Josh, I would like to keep the same height or else it wont fit in my garage. Do u have any suggestions on what kind of struts/shocks to get? KYB? Bilteins? Rancho? Should I replace all 4 at once? I'm running on 265/70R17 right now w/ mostly street driving. Appreciate the help.

    If you're not going to lift the truck, I would go with these. Bilstein's. Adjustables up front set to the 1st notch/lowest notch. These shocks are good for. 0-2" lift. That way if you ever did want to put a lift on it, you could. Today is the last day to get 10% off with promo code 1stgen at checkout. Poly won't soften the ride. It'll make it harsher because it doesn't deflect and deform as much as rubber does, so more vibrations and bumps from the road will be transmitted through your frame. They also won't last as long as the rubber bushings, either. Keep the bushings OEM if they're worn. However, at 140k, I doubt they need to be replaced.

    Timing belt vehicle engine. Replace with ONLY Aisin parts. Mine was changed at 150000 miles and was in great shape. Toyota recommends replacing at 100000 miles. MUST replace timing belt, radiator, upper, low hoses and water pump at the same time to have confidence in the cooling system. Rear lift gate latch will break. Replace it with an ALL metal one. The rear window function will break in time. I just do not roll mine down. The "D" indicator for the drive gear position light bulb will go out. The vehicle will go 1 million miles. 190000 miles on mine and runs like a champ. Best vehicle ever made. Just wish mine was a 4X4. Alo)(a!

    Google BFG Ko2 Dry Rot. You'll find all kinds of negative things about them. They only last about 2 years before they dry rot. If you go through tires faster than that then you'll be fine. I had KO2s on my 1st gen Tundra and replaced them when they had 60% tread left because two of them wouldn't hold air from being dry Rotted so bad. I replaced them with Terra Grapplers which were meh. So far the best OR tire I've owned is Cooper Discoverer AT/3
