Frankly, without doubt one of the most beautiful apartments among those you have visited. Even with your desk, you still have space. Indeed, the rent took that into account.

Usui-san this is one of the nicest apartments yet. I could see myself living here! Plenty of toilet paper storage and there's even a refrigerator with a freezer! 🤗 The only thing I would change would be to add doors (opening or sliding) on to the closet. Other than that it's perfect ❤❤

okay, I took notes. So much to say about this apartment! I love the wooden paneling (warmth feel) with the marble which makes it look expensive. The washer is hidden in the bathroom next to the sink. I think it may be too small for you but I was pleased to see it. You got a check for the toilet paper holder and a shoe shelf. There is a mini fridge. I'm not sure how much cooking and leftovers you have when it's only one person, but I think that it is a plus for you. I like the larger kitchenette in like the same dark wood. The bed can go in the partitioned room with the window. Desk and chair at the other window. I was pleased to see that you thought it would look good there as well. Open closet to put your extra clothes in, hooks for your coats and umbrella, Price seems a little steep though. You've seen cheaper but this is my new favorite. The search continues.

One of the best so far. Put a tension blind to cover the closet. Put back of office chair to wall, desk in front of it, guest chair on other side. Put sofa-bed facing window, emergency ladder in front of window in a chest that doubles as a table. Lots of possibilities!

Usui San, if you are ok with the rent then I think this apartment would suit your needs more than the other mini apartment we saw a couple of episodes ago. It’s close to the main district by train and you have a private sleeping space. However a few things crossed my mind. First off, the open wardrobe next to the kitchenette means if you decide to cook, your clothes will smell of food 😅. Secondly, if you plan on bringing your current washer dryer then there’s no space for it 😢. You’ll have to make do with the small washing machine provided in the toilet. However the flat in it self has a nice energy. Also I would arrange the desk and chair on the opposite wall as you would get more sunlight there 🙂☀️

@@KateyMoseley Wow, that price is gross. I should have added that as against the price range of the apartments seen so far in Tokyo. We could compare it to EUR 665, 18.6 sq.m of Ep. 27. (Olaf’s micro mansion), which has an island kitchenette where one could, in fact, cook, a minuscule balcony and japandy colours and materials (without fridge, washer and tv, also without security door and advanced lighting system). The latter was more homey for me (albeit not as good a location as this), and ranked 2nd in my list for the time being.

@@elephant9197 Yeh it really is gross. Basically a couple years ago we had an amazing PM who decided to do some tax cuts for the rich (they reversed this idea) and it sent the UK pound spiralling. Following that, the housing market went crazy because interest rates rose - many landlords, even those who didn't even have a mortgage anymore, raised their rents massively! There is a flat I rented back in 2012 for £300 now on the market for £800. It's just a room with a kitchen and bathroom attached (bigger than this micro apartment). It was £300 for the 2 years that I lived there, never went up. Have they renovated it? No. Is it still a damp smelling flat? Yes. Rent rose literally £500+ overnight for some people.

It's okay. I'm a child of the 70's so I like wood, but prefer real wood to obvious laminate. I like the bath with washer, and the kitchenette with nice-sized fridge. It's the placement of some of the installations that boggles me. With that large entryway, I'd have included the closet there with the shoe box, so there'd be room in the kitchen area for more storage like shelving. Also, I'd have put the tv counter in the living room area so there'd be room in the bedroom area for a dresser/closet or desk so that living room could have an actual separate dining area. It's unfortunate so much is clearly mounted and unmovable. I'd also take out the sliding doors and hang a softer partition that allows for light to flow through.

Usui, this the best apartment I’ve seen on your channel. I would live there if I could. That place has a lot of character with the wood. I think I would put a small Murphy bed in the bedroom, so I could put a chair in the room to enjoy the television. I would put a desk, recliner, and a folding dinner table with chairs in the living room. 😊

My dear Usui, as each feature of the living space was introduced, I became more and more pleased with this layout. It is very well planned. Having the washing machine located in the bath area will reduce the noise and create a more comfortable environment. Having ample storage for shoes at the entrance, a refrigerator and additional shelves for food storage is a very nice feature and having a partitioned space for sleeping would allow for some entertaining opportunities with friends 😉

This one lived up to the preview! I like it quite a bit. My only 🤔 is the washing machine, which seems small and awkwardly placed. Re: furniture, I would maybe put a bed in the inner space, if there's room, and put the desk in the partitioned space that has more direct light. Just seems nicer for working!

8:16 I also would place the bed in the separated room. I would place a small bookshelf parallel to the sliding wall between the separate room and the living room/kitchen. I would a desk where you placed it and beside the desk or at the other wall I would place a small sofa or soft chair for relaxing. In the entrance I would place a small shelf for things and the emergency ladder I would place above the shoe rack or on top of the kitchen corner. It does not burn every day. 😂 I also would place a green plant somewhere. I want to move in there! 😅

I have to say, the two mini appartments are much more appealing to me than the micro ones. Apart from the toilet paper storage (yay), they are more logical in their distribution of space and they are much more comfortable. The location is great as well. I love this one!

Logical layout! I can see the benefit of separating shower and toilet, but in a small apartement it's better to just have one door to the whole "bathroom". Very nice window! I could wish for some trees or greenery in the view, but I guess it's very central location? and it's not that much trees usually in the very centre if big cities. But you could see the sky which gives an airy feeling🙂

There are some definite advantages and disadvantages to this apartment. On the plus side: TP storage, a decent amount of space, and washer/fridge/closet space. On the negative side: higher rent, the fake wood finish, and it's very high up and I would definitely not want to have to go down that ladder in case of a fire. I say keep looking Usui. The apartment you need will eventually find you.🙂

That's actually a really nice and well thought out apartment. I like the bathroom with a full size sink, bathtub and the hidden washing machine. I'd install some kind of curtain or doors in front of the closet though, so cooking odors don't stick to the clothes. The location seems central and convenient. Unfortunately it shows in rent. It's one of the most expensive apartments we've seen. Guess it comes down to how important location is to you.

The rent is a little high, but if you can afford it -- THIS IS THE ONE!!! Grab this one if you can. If not, I'd still be happy with the Toy Story apartment. :)

I love this one. The only thing it's missing that I would really like to have is a balcony. Guess I'm more of a "small" apartment lady than a "micro" apartment girl. 🤣🤣🤣I really like the small alcove with the tv area. That would definitely be my bedroom with a pull-out couch or Murphy bed so that guests would have a place to sit & watch tv with me. The marble is beautiful & I absolutely adore the little hiding place for the washing machine. Plenty of cabinet space & a nice little closet. For a single person this would be a dream. Even a married couple if they still like each other. 🤣🤣🤣 The rent is only a little more than for a micro, but you can actually turn around in this one. Micro $550, Small $750. For me, it would be worth the extra $200. 💖💖💖

I like this place! It feels a bit like a hotel, I think the dark wood and bar-style counter with the glossy marble look is giving that vibe. But the place itself is pretty good when it comes to space and options. The cabinets and standing wardrobe could definitely use doors to make it cleaner looking and to keep cooking smells/splatter from getting onto your clothes, but that's not too hard to do yourself or maybe request from the landlord if possible. Bonus: if you work from home a lot (or maybe make and edit KZread videos...), it's really, really nice to have your workspace and your bedroom visually sectioned off from each other. That way when you go to bed, you are mentally "leaving work" by leaving the workspace. It's good for your Mental Health to have a separation between the spaces! I work from home in a 2-bedroom apartment in the US and have a room that is my home office and my bedroom on the other side of the apartment so that I can leave work behind mentally when it's bedtime/relaxing time. Otherwise I'd be tempted to keep working or checking on work things all night.

Love the front door with the fancy lock, looks so strong and professional. And then you walk in and there’s tons of space. right inside the door an excellent Hide-y place for your wallet and passport/stuff. Lots of places for your hidden security cameras. Frosted glass is nice. The edges of the laminate (which I really love) has had some scuffing so I would either get laminate repair marker or I would just get two colors of permanent marker, brown and black and do all of the edges that have been scuffed in the entire apartment. It would really move everything up. Visually one click. If you’re in the bathroom and there’s an earthquake, I would get out of there quickly because you can’t be sure of the quality of attachment of those panels if they are actually thin marble, which I don’t think they are they would definitely hurt if they fell on you. The telephone chamber doors can be troublesome so there if-y I would just leave them open Or spray them with silicone. That is my favorite affordable, eminently useful washer in the whole world. I’ve run across and used successfully for decades. (I’m super old.) You can hold a yoga class in there. Refrigerator, nice good size freezer. My favorite color is black. I really like everything in black. Breaker box is going to be a little bit hard to get to. Very much love the closed in porch. Drying your clothes with the window open and closing it off in the winter to save heating and air-conditioning in the summer. I love the little ledge outside above the window and below the window. Also, you could toss a very, very strong magnet with rope onto that metal roof opposite , or maybe shoot it cross with a potato gun in case of fire, and have a much more exciting way to escape a fire. It’s nice that the apartment comes with fire alarms. Of course, and the ladder. It looks like a couple of the floor pieces are lifted you might be ware of that. I would have a one piece that above office below with built-in closet That you can take apart and move with the tiny table on the other side of the room and two folding chairs. A smallish reclining chair with some plants out in the porch room. 🍃🪴🌿🛋️🫚😋🪴

Out of all the apartments we have been watching, I like this one best so far, and here's why. I like the separate space for the bed. I like the bathroom best because you have a tub and a shower, and the whole bathroom is separate, and the washer/dryer is there. The kitchen is better than most, and the fact the bed can go in the extra space leaves you with a mini-living room.

I thought of one other thing: It would have been safer to have the sink under the kitchen bar cupboards. With the current arrangement, there is a risk that you are cooking something on the induction cooktop and it flares up and starts the cupboards on fire 🔥😨 But if they had put the sink in that spot there wouldn't be room for the fridge underneath.

Very nice, but you are paying for size and location. There are a few missed opportunities in this apartment. The use of space in the genkan could be better. A large storage unit should have been installed on the bathroom wall with room for bags and coats and cleaning supplies and more storage than 4 pairs of shoes. A large mirror would also help reflect light into this dark corner. No dehumidifier in the bathroom. I think this is a necessity, but you can get a portable one. The open closet next to the induction cooker is asking for cooking smells and oil splatters to get on your clothes. Maybe move the cooker to the other side of the sink. Can the wall panels move so that they are all in front of the TV? This would be allow furniture arrangement in many different configurations and allow you to look out the window at your desk. Also, the TV could be in a large storage unit with hanging space to either side and lots of cupboards and draws above and below. Of course, the TV should be on a swivel. This apartment is large enough to incorporate so much storage. I don't understand why, especially given the space, there is so little built-in storage.

The way this apartment is laid out, you could potentially have a guest over - you can place a foldable small dining table with chairs in the main room and a foldable futon mattress and lay it out in that room if they stay overnight. I like the fact that there is a room separator, it makes it feel like a one-bedroom apartment (provides some privacy too). Also, the way the appliances are tucked into the bathroom and kitchen counter spaces respectively is just perfect! The only thing I am not a fan of, and this is just a personal opinion of course, design wise is the wood veneer - I feel it is too dark (because the counter color seems to be a darker grey as well). If the wood color was "birch"/lighter, it would give the entire space a more open appearance. I am not too familiar with rent price ranges, but given this has a "separate" room, $750 USD in Japan doesn't sound too bad (I would think, I could be totally wrong). Overall, a great apartment, one of the best ones you have covered 😀!!

This is a very conveniently organized space! I would wonder how it might feel with the desk and/or relaxing space in the outer partitioned area, and the bed inside nearer to the closet. Having the light coming in might make for better motivation with whatever work you have to do at the desk. Then the inner space would be darker, maybe better for sleep. Just an idea!

Gosh this one is pretty nice, oh boy the price though! The finishes are very nice - The layout and amenities too.I would be a bit concerned about the size of the small washer since you would be coming from a larger unit. I kind of like the other small apartment better, but you'd need to establish pros and cons for each - location, amenities, layout, convenience and of course, expense.

It’s a lot more than a micro apartment, and well worth it. Reminds me of my first Studio in Oakland! The location is outstanding! I love the bathroom and the kitchenette isn’t actually usable! I’d like to see small spaces for young people in US cities.

This apartment has such a classy feel! The open closet being near the kitchenette is a little awkward because your clothes might get stinky if cook something 😅 … but I love the partitioned room, it gives you more freedom to arrange your furniture!

Usui, love the intro with your walk and meal. You could really extend your videos with more scenes of Tokyo. It may take a while to exhaust the inventory of micro AND small apts. Do you really want to move, or just tour apts with us? Either way, we love the journey, and hope you and Spidey eventually settle somewhere.

一番!! I like the sliding partition on this one, that will keep the smells from cooking away from the bed! The price is a bit high, but considering how spaceous and livable it is, as well as how nice the kitchenette is, and the location in Ebisu... I would live here. But you're right, it isn't a micro-apartment.

Is very pretty! Apart from the lack of storage and the high rental price, it is one of the most beautiful you have shown. If the rent cost over ¥80,000, for me it would be the ideal micro apartment (Here in Galicia (Spain), where I live, rents are around €400 (about ¥65,000) for a 70 square meter apartment). Thanks for all this content, Usui San! 😊

Usui, I LOVE IT! Now that is workable. You can have a sofa, a place to eat, I would not close the sliding doors, I would live them. You could get draws and shelves. This has a lot to offer. I still don't like the bathroom by the entrance, but it is all in one area. I don't even mind the washer where it is at. Yep! I see potential in this apartment.

This one is nice but a little awkward. If there's a window that's where I would want to put the desk but that can't happen here because there is just one place for the bed to fit. Glad to see a shoe cabinet and there is toilet paper storage and I love that there is a small tub in the bathroom and there is a fridge.I don't like where the clothes washer is. The place is too expensive compared to others that have similar space and storage. This one looks nice and finished but I think it would lead to dissatisfaction in the long run.

I'm a bit late Usui-san but I do like this apartment. I think you would like to live in it.... my only reservation is the fact that you can transform it into a two-rooms instead of a studio. While a great idea in theory, I'm not sure of how often you would actually close that panel since you won't have any natural light in the main room if you do. But that's just me being picky. Anyway, thank you for the video!
