I think Companies are running high base mag on 384’s to get that great crisp image at the 100-200 yard range.

Best customer service ever. I have bought a thermal from them yet. I will wish I could go in and get a hands on testing at their store. I don't know if they provide that. I've spoke to Jason. Very good man

I hunt coyotes only on big farms only so I want a 5-6 base mag. I’m on my scanner lrf 95% off the time. I’d much rather have the better power in the scope. The scanner covers everything, I’d love to have big power in the base mag.

I have the halo lrf and have never shot a coyote on the base mag. I shoot everything 2x and up. On a scanner until dogs are spotted, then I'm in the scope. Base mag needs to creep up on 640 units. We shoot 25 to 600 yards. We hand load hot rounds for flatter flight. A 5x 640 with a trust worthy lrf would be amazing

In the old days we had the FLIR PTS736 and it was a 6x and at the time had amazing image quality. Unfortunately they bombed because not enough hunters can utilize that kind of high base mag and super narrow FOV. It’s just such a small market. We’d highly suggest the Infiray Outdoor Hybrid 75. It’s going to be the best long range thermal on the market right now and if someone comes out with a 5 or 6x, I doubt it will match the image quality if the Hybrid 75. It’s crazy good. Im surprised dual base magnification 1.5/3x or 2/4x has not taken off more. Along with 1028 HD imagine sensors not mentioned

We agree that dual base mag is hopefully the way of the future and we mentioned that when we reviews the Clarions and the Rico Pro. But what’s interesting is that the dual base mag scopes have not taken off with consumers like they should be. And if people don’t buy them in mass, they will go away. With both dual base mag and 1024/1280, those are trends just yet but hopefully they will be by next year at this time.

My biggest reservation on proprietary batteries is how long the format will last. For example, my wife has had 3 SLR/DSLR and 2 compact cameras that ALL use separate style batteries. The bodies of the SLR/DSLR accept the same lenses, but not the same batteries. The advantage of the devices with "generic" batteries, aa, 123, etc., is that they can be used after sitting around for a while by just putting fresh batteries in them. Some propriety batteries after about 3 years become unobtainium or you, if it was a popular style, have to get a half-life Chinese knockoff replacement battery, or a completely new device. That said, I am still considering a V2 Rattler, because I like the extra features it has over the original. When my $ is right, will be placing a call or online order.👍👍

2x base mag is almost too much for me since I hunt in timber. If someone came out with1 or 1.5 base mag, I would buy two tomorrow!!!!

@@TheLateNightVisionShow Couple of questions: 1. Do you have to zero for both the 1.5 & 3 ? 2. Can you get a mount for a bolt action for eye relief ?

  • @TheLateNightVisionShow

Good questions…. 1) No sir, one zero for both magnifications. 2) Yes you can call iRay and request the long bolt action style mount. It is a fixed mount (non QD) but they have them. The scope ships with a small QD mount and it might work with your bolt gun and is worth a try but the long mount should definitely do it. It’s a really really nice scope and the image is great. The best thing is that it’s 2 scopes on one with the two different base mags.
