Ep 26 - Angel Rose: 22-Year-Old INK MASTER
Angel Rose is a three-time Ink Master contestant. She appeared on season 11, was a finalist on season 13, and finished 4th on the all-star season 14. Angel is a master illustrator and is proficient in all styles of tattooing. Her preference is black and grey/illustrative realism. She is a frequent teacher and is the host of the Trilogy Tattoo Conference. Angel stopped by Eden on a tour to film content for each of the 2024 presenters: Deanna James, Bobby Johnson, and Jacob Sheffield.
In this episode we talked about Angel's teachings, how to learn and improve as a tattoo artist, and how to develop your career. We also talked about how she uses her film background to implement story telling in her tattoos, how she finds inspiration, and how Ink Master developed her career.

This is an incredible episode. I relate to so much of what Angel said! I've always said that your goal shouldn't be to meet your heroes, but to support your friends and watch as they become them. I mean, obviously it's cool to meet heroes (Hi Deanna!) but what really gets me teary is the other apprentices and artists I'm meeting now and doing print trades with and how we believe in each other, and I know that as long as we care, it's going to pay off. We'll together become stars in the same sky as our heroes in time. It's really beautiful!! I also love that she talked about actions having ripples, because that's literally something I say in my own personal mission statement as a tattooer: create ripples of love that will make the world more beautiful than when I found it. Money is cool, notoriety is cool, but the REAL goal is always to create, nurture, and foster love. Love is always the purpose. 🖤
I definitely agree with Angel on the online schooling beind devoid of soul. You can't learn tattooing online! I'm all for taking art classes, and painting classes online, or even tattooing courses once you are already in a shop and know what you're doing. The difference between painting and tattooing though is that tattooing is a three dimensional art. It seems like it isn't, because the tattoos are flat on the skin, but you are tattooing in a 3D space. You wouldn't learn how to weld online!
