Bilawal is major scale and thus is a happy thaat. Asavari is minor and sad/serious. Kalyan (major) and bhairavi (minor) are lydian and phrygian respectively and are of dreamy nature. Kafi is dorian and khamaj is mixolydian.

Two questions: during the introduction of Raags in Taats: 1- isn’t it better to list the most popular raags of a Taat (with whom the people are most familiar), like Shivranjani in Kafi? (Jane Kaha gaye wo din). 2- Isn’t it more sweet to reference each raags with most popular songs that people like them?

Very lovely and talented girl. Two questions: during the introduction of Raags in Taats: 1- isn’t it better to list the most popular raags of a Taat (with whom the people are most familiar), like Shivranjani in Kafi? (Jane Kaha gaye wo din). 2- Isn’t it more sweet to reference each raags with most popular songs that people like them?

Are raag bloop and Bhopalis same. In your lessons if u mention the Karnataka emu Ila this rags. Name it will be more useful.Very cheerful presentation.
