Ep 21 - Kevin Laroy: From Garage Tattooing to Reality TV Star
We had Kevin Laroy on the show to talk about his 20-year his career arc, which started with him tattooing out of a garage, and has lead to him being on some of the most popular reality TV shows. We also touched on his growing position as a tattoo educator, and discussed some helpful tips for progressing in your career, staying busy through slow season, and more.
Kevin Laroy is a Dallas-based tattoo artist. He's worked in New York and LA, and appeared on the reality TV shows Ink Master, Black Ink Crew, and How Far is Tattoo Far. He has been a presenter at the Eden Winter Symposium and has taught a hands-on seminar at Eden.

Hey y'all!! Drawing and listening again! I relate to a lot of Kevin's story as far as knowing art is what you're meant for but not knowing how it'll manifest. I, too, came out the womb drawing; I've been doing tattoo designs regularly since I was 17, but even graduating art school (where plenty of people told me I should be tattooing) at 27 I didn't know what I was going to do with my degree. I joke it's my most expensive rolling tray. It took me til 33 to finally take the plunge into entering this field that I've always loved and respected so much. I'm elated to be on the other side of "knowing". I've never felt more certain I'm on the track to what I'm supposed to do, and manifesting it really is just declaring that I want it and letting myself have it. 🖤 And also, Kevin, you did great at the winter symposium and everyone in that room was proud of you!!
