Ep 2: The Platoon Sergeant (Every Singaporean Son - The Epilogue)
Lemuel got what he wished for - to be in a combat unit. After graduating as a Specialist, he was posted to 6 SIR where he quickly assumed the post of Platoon Sergeant. Amidst the hustle and bustle of field training and operational duties, Lemuel reflects on how he has grown from being part of a tightly knit force.

as a PS myself, I learnt it's an all rounded leader mentor and guardian in my journey althought it's alot if thick and thin and managing each and every one fair and dear, until these guys say ROD and they wrote me a cool farewell card when they went uni and I was so proud of them remembering me. that make my day in that tour of duty before I posted to another unit.
THIS IS THE BEST EP FOR THE EPILOGUE
I guess it still holds true that the best commanders always go to the units
Good job on PS Lemuel!!
This gentleman is charismatic!
i need more of these videos. Thx for posting these
@chaingang90 I think its called Blank-firing adapter. Its attached to the muzzle when using blanks. I doubt paintball can simulate the recoil effectively.
TOUGH AND EFFECTIVE!
erm may i ask how can i get selected to do these Operational duties like in this video they patrol the Changi Airport etc? As in can you apply or must u specially get appointed? Because its so cool to serve these duties!
@SpecJack15 i know there blank firing adapter is the little metal bit that covers where the flash suppressor normally is. So what's the small box thing beside it?
If i want sign on .. what should i sign on because i want go airport operation so how do i get there ? any idea which unit isit beside i know is SIR ?
Oh man Maju Camp looks quite different today, 9SIR (2PDF) Inf Trooper here and we share that 6SIR building (left side of “Protector of Peace” ) 5th floor shag life but never as shag as 6SIR troopers going outfield nearly every week from what I’ve seen 😂, tough times don’t last, tough men do!

Hi Neighbour. Haha
when's your enlistment date?
@cibwins The policeman is issued a MP5 9x19mm submachine gun. Policemen on patrol always carry a 5-shot .38 Special revolver in their holsters. On NDP, the police contingent is issued with H&K MP5.
The siren sound at the start is coming from the loudhailer?
Then How to become Airport Operational Duty ? Any idea ?
@Quest19991 Just Ord from 3 SIR in March. Are you heading there?
does 3sir do the same stuff also?
in 3.01 min is he being shoot down??I want ask a few question well serving ns can go feather study ?
@Johnjohn7812347, You guys now training with the TERREX ICV right?
how did they do the mission , fight other people without ppl getting shot ? isit a paintball fight ?
@Chewingboy use of paint is kind of rare. these guys are shooting blanks, the rifles have this laser attachment on the rifle
Can I ask something heard one of the NS guy in this platoon studying ITE NITEC ? Wat the benefit ? Din know well serving NS can study de
@gc95 Nono im wondering whether vistory r from 2sir
@cibwins Yep, around 900 grams lighter. SAR 21 is made from impact-resistant polymer, so its a very light assault rifle.
@RevolutionVic no that console enable you to so call 'perform' buddy aid on each other, after you have physically done so, it is to simulate and to update your system that your kinda 'healed'. you are free to study whatever you want, on your free time, im guessing that guy is doing his o levels as a pte candidate and studying in camp for it thats all.
@Chewingboy There will be one laser attach to your rifle and a few reciever on your heat and body> You will see those guys helmet got thing coming out at the side. When you squeeze the trigger, the laser will shoot out a "beam" and hit your enemy receiver. IF you are hit a buzzing sound will come out and the media will know where you are hit and will attend to u accordingly. Hope this help.
@vistory 2SIR?
@cibwins Because its proven in combat? Its the primary weapon of the British Special Air Service. MP5 is light, accurate and utilizes the Johnson stock design like the M16 family of rifles, the in-line bore with the stock significantly reduces recoil. Not sure about the SAR 21 because of its bullpup configuration.
@Quest19991 yeah pretty much as in 3 sir will go through atec and 4ntm as shown in the vid as well, but 6 sir generally spends most of their time doing poi duties as thats their specialisation. 3 sir specialise in urban ops.
So, kind of like lasertag?
during the mission they are shooting dummies right ?
I Saw Douglas At My Reserrvist Camp! he is a 2LT now.
@chaingang90 That's the MILES laser attachment used to simulate hits. Soldiers wear laser receivers to indicate if they're hit. If a soldier is hit by the laser, the medic can easily identify the wound. It uses information from the weapon like the caliber and ammunition type to illustrate the range. I don't really know if the BFA on the bullpup SAR-21 is the same as the M16, although they use the same 5.56x45mm ammo.

damn. im goin for the ps course this march
@Chewingboy All the rifles and machine guns in training and exercises fire blank rounds, meaning there is no bullet in the round, the case only contains gunpowder. When the trigger is pulled, the gun's striker in the bolt hits the bottom of the case and sets off the powder. This is what makes the gunshots and effect of shooting. Hope this helps!
LOL this is where 6sir fought with 4sir right? i was there defending the 1st building they are attacking. the 1st building was taken by platoon 9 6sir.
@blooduhz ok thanks for the comment and to be noted :D Cheers !!!
Why the platoon sergeant did not wear a beret and bring any firearms?
interesting to see a medic holding a matador... 2:47

@Chewingboy The rifles and machine guns in training and exercises use blank rounds, its a black plastic bullet than contains only gunpowder. When the trigger is pulled, the gun's strike the bottom of the bullet and sets off the powder. This make the smoke and recoil feel in the gun.
@ssj4terence i wasnt talking abt that, I was talking abt the miles laser attachment
Platoon sgt is the shittiest appointment to hold in platoon. I had a group of 14 specs choosing who among them to go for PS course by randomly drawing 11Bs.
@555hansy usually, they just use blank rounds.
@casions yup enlisting in there on 8 sep
@seryang how can @ashryasrinick know him? he is from "U.S. Army in White Sands. Sent in Iraq for 9 long years."

How come 6SIR wear 2PDF formation badge?
@bullymaguire6315
4 жыл бұрын
6SIR was previously under 2PDF before they were transferred over to 3Div. They were the pioneer infantry unit tasked with POI operations in the 2000’s era before 9SIR was created. In short, 2PDF created 9SIR to replace 6SIR for POI operations as 6SIR exited and returned back to being a traditional light infantry unit
@Meltosonic Most undervalued profession is field engineer la. Medic so important every unit need medic. And so slack some more.
Damn,it's my camp +.+
does 3sir do patroling also? if they do where do they usually patrol?
mono intake this coming march to 6sir.
Quite sad that none of the boys became a medic. Ah, the most undervalued profession. :(

The sand model looks like FIBUA...This ATEC look's very slack. Our ATEC have to take field pack and assault pack including any additional weapons we're assigned to.
@ashryasrinick hahaha i feel you bro, metador is a bitch to lug around in an uo attack.
this video sums up my last few months in ns. 4ntm then atec then poi then ORD. but im not from 6 sir. orded 1 month ago.
LEMUEL IS MY COUSIN OMGOMGGG:)
Is it just me or do I find Lamuel quite cute >
ya compare life in combat unit with that other guy in tekong. tekong sgt do what shit? stand there, point and shout only. hello? 6 sir already got it good. spend most of their time doing poi duties. hell of a easier time than full infantry units like 2sir.
6 SIR, we set the standard for POI. FYI, I was in the year 06-08 batch that awarded Redcon1 for ATEC. ^^ DELTA all the way~!!
DO ALL YOUR SHIT! XD
Most myopic army on Earth ?
btw: NEVER trust NSF medic specs. -___- i was a medic and shit happens
@cibwins Ya, but even so, he will not be as good as the soldiers are in a firefight.
omg , did i see 2 pdf badge?! hahaha
hahaha! Lemuel in the "Every Singaporean Son" Series is like quiet,Emo type. now he say "clean all you shit" LOL He has CHANGED bu SAF's BRAIN-WASH
6SIR Charlie!!! Pioneer POI batch!
@hiam Ikr LOLOL
@ssj4terence so basically, they play laser tag....hahahaha
to simplify things, you're go to your section level, then go do all your SHIT
@RevolutionVic Why? you want to see stewardesses everyday is it? lol. who doesn't right. tell you the truth, it depends on your luck really. for example they might posted you to Nee soon camp, then few years later than they post you to airport. For NSF, one of the criteria maybe they see you where you live. who live in eastside near airport got the chance first. But remember this is NS. not all you want, you'll get.
Translate: shit = everything that you have to do
POP loh!
omg ,i post to 5 sir as rifleman==
😴
I got 9SIR! haha
signaller ps course ftw!
