Well Tim, as the actor Jack Hawkins said in Bridge Over the River Kwai, "There's always the unexpected, isn't there?" Soaking rain and no place to camp, but you adapted nicely. On the positive side, you don't have to worry about where to park your trike in the Netherlands--unlike the US and so many other places. We had heavy rain and hail (twice) out here in semi arid Aurora, CO yesterday. It's been a weird Spring so far: warm one day, then 10-20° F colder the next. As always, continued safety the rest of the way my friend! PS: I too have an Insta 360 camera, the rectangular type with fixed lens. My late triking friend David Goldman sold it to me. He died from cancer November 22, 2022. I think of him whenever I use it.

There isn't always space for the trike 😬 more on that to come. I've now finished my first week. Fingers and toes all crossed for better weather to come.

Deal! When can I come get them?

As a fellow recumbent rider, who uses his phone as a camera and mp3 player while riding. I put mine in an Otter Box Defender case. And it was/is a very good investment. But if it really gets bad, I keep a few Zip Lock bags handy. All you can do is keep going. And hope for the best, but be ready for the worst. Keep pedaling.

@@TimsTrikeTrips Okay, its Otterbox, one word, and they run about 40 dollars US, on Amazon. I really love the one my phone is in. I've only dropped the phone twice, but no damage at all.

I second on the Otterbox. I’ve been using them for several years with various iPhone models and they’ve never let me down. Definitely can recommend Otterbox, when using your smartphone outdoors. 👍🏻😉 Again save traveling Tim. And I hope the following days will be better in regard to the rain. Cheers, Phil

Sorry for the Dutch weather being so.... Dutch 😅 should've come to Taiwan!! 😉😉 not sure it you'd like it here though, 35C high humidity days are probably not that pleasurable for cycling either 😅 look forward to seeing how the trips develop, there will be sunny days ☀️☀️

Great to hear your voice again Tim. Curious how you secure the trike while at the hotel?. Here in the states anything short of in your room would be disastrous.

In this case it was in the hotels own secure bike shed. But otherwise Trinny goes in either something similar or in my room. There's a story to tell in Ep.8 on this very subject too. 👍

You have my sympathy .. I know full well what it is like triking in pouring rain! By-the-by, what happened to your electric assist? It looks like your don't have the tong shen motor on the boom.

Hi Peter. Yes the electric assist is off for this tour. I've put the EFNEO drive back on by choice. I explain my reasons in an upcoming video 👍

How's Trinny doing on those solid tyres? Do you still have them on?
