Ep. 126 - 5 Rules of the Range
Спорт
On this episode, Seth and Matt are joined by the new Heartland Public Shooting Park Manager and Hornady employee, Tom Busch. The guys discuss one of the most important parts of range safety - proper shooting range etiquette. Whether it’s your first time at a public shooting range or you’re a regular range guest, the guys cover some written and unwritten rules that can help us all. We hope you enjoy the episode!

I had a friend that shot for the first time in her life last night. I told her there were two expectations. Be safe (we've drilled the 4 rules for several weeks) Have fun (if you're honestly not that's fine we just won't do this again) Everything else is trainable. She did AWESOME!

Heck yeah!
Before you arrive, know what rules apply to how firearms are to be carried from your vehicle to the range. Some ranges require that firearms be kept cased and placed on the shooting bench pointing down range. Others may require they be carried openly with the bolt open and visible. Also, while not necessarily posted as firm rules, there are rules of etiquette that also apply. For example, be courteous by not allowing your spent casings to fly onto your neighbor at those facilities where the benches are relatively close together. Many ranges have boards that can be used to block these casings for those who don’t use a brass catcher. After all, who wants to be smacked with hot steel or brass.
One of the biggest ones I see at the public range is "don't take up space you aren't using". I see all the time a group of 5 guys has 10 gun cases laid out, taking up benches that they aren't actually using

Have seen that too
LOL, "that guy." My friends and I shoot CMP regional and national matches. We constantly joke "don't be that guy." Then we usually get to point and out laugh at "that guy." We use "that guy" examples at our basic rifle and advanced rifle clinics too. Point well made.
Living in Florida, I have run ins with that guy on the golf course. I usually don't have to get busy with them because most of the Rangers are retired old prior service men and they are pretty quick to put the "what's up" on you if you are that guy 🤣🤣🤣🤙🤙🤙
I’d like to see some more information internal barrel conditions such as fire cracking, erosion and such!
I have a 3 part suggestion, and it is in most of the rules of most ranges, but I'm not sure how well it's understood. a. Never leave the weapon unattended; b. In an unsafe condition; c. Know exactly what that is / means.
Yalls underground shooting tunnels. how does it work and not disrupt the bullet bc of air distribution and air pressure and air current flowing thru the tunnel?? maybe thats an episode in its own to go over
I really really appreciate you guys and the things you do ‼️💯❤️ I realize y'all are the major player in the regular guy shooting world, but I do wish other manufacturers would follow your lead and really grow the genre.
Great video as always. Suggestion for a video - gee le douche ROs?
Love the content. Could have been 5 min. Do the list then have story time.
That is what irks me. "Just walk around until you see someone dressed similar to someone else or wearing a certain type of hat. Then go and ask...." Why not have one port of entry to a range where someone will Inform you as to what to do and where to go.
I was at a range (100-yard public) The range was cold. People down range setting targets. That guy Picked up his rifle off the bench. Started swinging it around looking thru the scope. They were yelling on load speaker for him to put it down. Witch he did not. They swarmed him so fast. Kicked him off the range. #2 Range was hot people shooting. Shooter set down his rifle and started walking to his target while range was hot.

@@hornady Thanks 😁
Rule #1 for a range, dont be that range where you can only shoot 1 round a second. 🇺🇸
the range is where i found out them prc's arent as fast as the box claims. odd
At our public stand nobody wears eye protection, is it even possible that a bullet can ricochet right back at over 100 Meters?
The first 4 are just rules of life and being a decent human being. The last one is just universal weapons safety rules. If you don't zero your sights, you do not know your target, and what lies beyond it

Common sense is not common at all.
RULE #1 Use any Ammo except Hornady, because it is made in small limited quantities 👎
