Have you ever wondered how many types of intuition are there and how you can differentiate them?
Joining me today is Sonia Choquette, the globally celebrated dynamic spiritual teacher and six-sensory consultant is coming back to Mindvalley Mentoring to help you identify the different types of intuition and how you can tap into each one of them.
About Sonia Choquette
Sonia Choquette is a bestselling author and international speaker, widely regarded as today’s preeminent leader on the subject of intuition.
Reawakening humanity’s sixth sense is Sonia’s mission, passion, and gift. Rising up from her family’s challenging circumstances, she began offering intuitive readings to adults at the age of 12, and started her training with two master teachers in metaphysical arts and spiritual law.
Since then, Sonia has traveled the globe for over four decades, presented on the world’s biggest stages, and collaborated with leading spiritual teachers and media platforms to help millions reconnect with their innate intuitive intelligence.
Sonia’s approach to teaching intuition is one-of-a-kind. Instead of drawing from rigid scientific or spiritual dogma, she empowers her students to feel and listen to their own inner voices - and experience self-driven transformation through trust and reverence of the higher self.
Sixth Sense Superpower is Sonia’s first complete program with Mindvalley: and we’re thrilled to be able to bring her life-changing teachings to millions more.

I was traveling to ohio driving with a friend at night. We needed petrol in our rented car. We pass a gas station and because it looks busy we drive further. We drive into another gas station. There are people there. I stop the car. And am suddenly hit with a huge redlight in my gut. “We need to go” i said. My friend laughed at me, and wanted me to not listen. The vibe was so strong I simply drove off. I drive straight out and on and we reach another gas station with a parked police car and we enter that station. I step out and drive to the polica man and ask him, whether this gut feeling was ridicolous or not. He tells me that we probsbly just saved our lives, because that place was the most danferous place in all of ohio. And he told me to always trust that gut, that it was a true gift.

When you pathologize your intuition you disort your reality which can manifest as paranoia anxiety and depression. If you ignore your intuition you won’t have discernment and will fall into the same cycles you end up repeating mistakes and into an inauthentic paradigm. You won’t know who to trust because you are abandoning yourself . Not trusting yourself (intuition) can make you regress emotionally. Human beings are emotional creatures and unfortunately emotions often override our intuition. It’s why it’s important to remind yourself that feelings are not facts and to not abandon yourself . To be rational so you can than tune into yourself .

You explained it so well. i always knew I was abandoning myself by not trusting in me, but still I couldn't find a way to trust my intuition, to even indentify it, I have been struggling with this since I got into relation in 2019 , we broke up in 2022 but still i have been having a hard time trusting myself and identifying what my instincts are trying to say, cuz I have been full on anxiety and depression mode in that relationship, can't say if it was because of that relationship or something else, but trying hard to practice and listening my instincts.

I have had a very interesting friendship with my intuition from the time I was a small child. I have been able to predict deaths within my family and friendships. I also predicted within 30 sec that a vehicle was going to drive off the road and hit our house. 30 sec later a man fell asleep and the wheel and crossed the center line and drove through our yard totaling my husbands truck which was parked in our drive way just feet from my house. I don’t claim to be psychic but I have very quick intuition in certain scenarios. My family is aware and have witnessed these things. Im a very solitary person but I believe this is very important for people to understand. We all have this and it can be a great blessing if you can better exercise it.

That gut punch feeling has only happened to me once. It took my breath away. I've never gotten a clearer message from my body. Unfortunately, I didn't have the inner strength to say no (this was early in the process of awakening). It had severe consequences and caused a lot of pain, not only for me, but my loved ones too. But, it also opened the path I took to where I am now and I know I'm where my Spirit wants to be. I've met so many of my Soul family over the last few years. I'm so blessed with deep, close, authentic friendships and have learned to love and trust in a way I never thought possible. I'm so grateful for my friends. I know it was Soul planned for us to be in each other's lives. I won't ever ignore a message like that again though.

Years ago my friend and I pulled into the neighborhood hamburger joint, one that I’ve eaten at countless times over the years with nothing out of the ordinary. It was a slightly old fashioned place where the entire front is glass facing the street, pretty close to the sidewalk. There’s a counter with 6 or 7 swivel seats in a row which is visible to the street. Street lights light the area very well. We drove although it was close enough to walk to. But it was nighttime so I pulled up right in front very close to the glass entrance door , I got out and stood there looking at the menu waiting for the employee make her way to the order window . A truck pulled up on the side parking spaces, clearly visible , The passenger got out first. Walking slow to the door which was open at the time, letting in the warm summer air. He hesitated just long enough to look around and stared at the driver then slowly walked into the hamburger joint and sat half way down the counter. The driver then got out of the truck walked up and entered . All the while im trying not to appear as if I’m watching them . We did catch eye to eye as the passenger entered. I appeared to be annoyed at how long I was waiting, but in reality I was thinking heavily about that I was struck with what was I’d say the strongest intuitive sensation I’ve ever experienced up to that point . So i acted as if I was just annoyed enough to leave. The driver closed the entrance door when he came in , which I thought was kind of odd. It being left open by the employee meant it should remain open. It was my inner voice saying to walk to the car and then mention that Im having a strong intuition about what just took place, all the while making it look as if I had no time to wait any longer. My friend was going through the same intuitive experience of exactly the same thought. Both of us feared it was about to be robbed at gun point. I told her not look back at the place so as not give any suspicion to the robbers. Act like there’s nothing going on . I went for a long drive in the opposite direction, since I lived a couple blocks away. If I had done that , it would’ve been easy to drive past my house with my blue VW parked in the front. Just in case …. Whether or not the place got robbed I never found bout, but the Gut feeling and the voice in my head telling me to get us out of there not to mention my friend having the same intuition.,

Preface/P.S. We have 60 senses, as opposed to just 6 senses...but fully support the part where you relate language's role in intuitive intelligence development. Intuition's purpose shouldn't be primarily to alert us to danger, but to fully develop all of our abilities. Intuition must go beyond the gut.

@@alannahssolutions2723 No creative green lights missing here...just telling people to be creative is like telling people to just be calm...there's a deep cognitive functionality missing, which sadly is often kept out of the equation of intuitive intelligence development for humans. Real intuitive intelligence can only be fully and properly calibrated when humanity is reconciled to fix childhood by ensuring that intuition is undamaged during the first five years of life. It isn't necessary for us to be purposely broken only to be fixed or healed later in life -- nothing else in the universe works that way, so it is inconsistent with natural law, and definitely non-commensurate with energy, whether visible or invisible. Creativity, albeit volitional, is predominantly a by-product basis of early diversified-intuitive-cognitive development, vetted to provide unlimited possibilities both for critical reasoning and innovative thinking. It doesnt belong solely to the domain of creativity per se, as it is typically thought of for art, or self-development or culture...it cannot just be magically conjured in adulthood, particularly for those who struggle with it.

Fifteen years ago I began teaching people how to be their own "psychic" so they wouldn't be spending money on the psychic websites. I was a professional "5 star" Reader who was aghast at the fraud in the industry and the fear it created and fed. Although at this time I'm focused on painting and writing, I'm still always ready to answer questions on how to identify, improve and use personal power while live streaming art sessions. Sonia is wonderful and I've referred people to her works often. Glad she's connected to Mind Valley ❤. One moment I can't forget during my childhood. Me and my brother were sleeping in the living room, I woke up in the middle of the night, not hearing anything yet but my intuition was convincing me to transfer to another room where my other siblings were sleeping.. Minutes later, my Mom and my brother followed me upon hearing a strange voice (like from someone who's suffering).. Maybe it's an evil spirit. My intuition didnt let me experience that knowing I hate to encounter creepy things like that. It will surely freak me out x10 if I did. Also, days before my dearest nephew passed away, while I was at the gym, I heard Mariah's song "Bye Bye" and it hit me hard..it gave me the feeling of losing a love one..I find it really strange.. I just found myself teary eyed and being so hurt..days after the saddest news from our family was spilled.. We miss you Kurt ❤ always

Halloween of, I think, 2015 I joined a friend at Buck Owens Crystal Palace for a Colt Ford concert. It was a lot of fun, and I prayed a silent prayer of gratitude upon leaving, as well as a prayer to arrive home safely. There was a down pour that night, and a car had cut me off upon entering the freeway on ramp. This had me in a heightened state of focus on the reckless car which prevented me from seeing a huge puddle of water on the freeway. When I hit the puddle I hydroplaned, and my car began spinning uncontrollably in 3 or 4 lanes of on coming traffic. As I spun I held tightly to the wheel, and in my spirit said “But, Lord, I just prayed to get home safely”.. I felt an instant peace wash over me that told me everything was going to be alright. At that time I surrendered to the outcome. Then as my mind went silent I heard a voice in my head as plain as if it were coming from someone sitting next to me say “Get your foot off the brake”. Which surprised me as I had no idea my foot was even on it. I did as instructed, and my car shortly thereafter came to a complete stop an inch or two away from the center divider. Now in the opposite direction, facing traffic, but out of the lanes. My car didn’t see a single scratch, scrape or ding through that experience. I laughed, and cried simultaneously all the way home.

Internal processes are personal to each individual, we are really not to interfere into each others heart and intuition; that is the path that everybody takes alone. One listens to one's own heart, and one's own soul, and has one's own divine connection. And we only talk to each other on the subject in a safe = healthy respectful circumstances (environment, persons, time, way..)

One evening I walked to the store down the street. Living on a steep hill meant down the street. Since I lived at the top walking down hill on a tight corner with plant debris on the sidewalk meant you had to be sure footed so as not slip and fall. Just past the corner was a short wall to brace the elevation of the yard . There stood a tree with a trunk about 7 inches wide and 6 to 7 feet tall. The trunk went perfectly straight up to the thick foliage that stretched out in a circle at the top of the tree which had been groomed flat on both sides. It was about 10 inches thick. It always looked top heavy with a comical look. I thought about the tree as I headed to the store. I always walked on the same side of 😅the street , up and down. After leaving the store walking back up the hill I got a couple of houes up and instead of my usual trek uphill on my side of the street, I choose not to. The unguided voice but very quietly said not to cross the street. Oi said to myself ok , but I wondered why. As I was directly across the street where the tree I described if . It suddenly stated to shake alittle, and in a flash it toppled over onto the side walk crashing and destroying the foliage and its trimmed shape. I went over to it and found it to be pretty heavy. Had I been walking where I usually would be, I would have been in its way and thrown to the ground and probably injured. Maybe seriously injured ? I followed my intuition to the letter. It pays to listen and act on it. Even if you don’t know what you’re changing whatever you need to alter to stay away from some possible disaster. Do it you never know. Especially if it flashes across the screen of your mind in a split second. Act on it.

I love that topic! A great book that can help you balance intuiton and rational thought in a wise way is "thinking fast and slow" from Daniel Kahneman. It also explains why sometimes intuition can lead you to a wrong decision ( like when you are biased or coming from a place of anxiety) and how to avoid those traps so you can use it in a great way!❤

Intuition will never lead you to a wrong decision. It was never your intuition in the first place. It your feeling that leads you to a wrong decision. They are two different things.

@@obomeghiemomoh9822Yup agreed, intuition is never wrong. That’s why in this video Sonia was instructing to take the deep breaths and to quiet the mind, because it’s important to be able to discern between what is intuition and what is the overthinking mind (which can create thoughts from fear/anxiety)

Exactly! I agree, intuition is always right but you have to know how to access it without being biased by other things (such as anxiety, fears) otherwise you will think you are fully being guided by your intuition but might be misled by your mind that gets in the way.

Thank you for your comment. I followed my intuition and for the past year and a half it was the worst decision of my life. I’m hoping it was right and I still haven’t ended up where I’m supposed to be. I will def check out the book, I just can’t believe that something so strong could be so wrong, but here I am in a terrible place cause I followed my intuition 😞

I went on a couple of dates with a guy and we got along great. On paper we were perfect. Discussion was great! But something told me I wasn't emotionally safe with him. So I withdrew. He flipped on me so quickly, and I was like, "ohhh, there it is!" It was initially illogical, but then made sense.

Relaxation techniques are really important, and knowing how to follow an instinct you can trust is invaluable. But do you know what is even more precious than knowing how to find peace and guidance within yourself? Letting go of presuppositions about religion, and learning to listen to the Spirit of God, which is the Spirit of Truth-- because not only will he never guide you wrong, but, if you are walking with the Spirit of Truth (who is the Holy Spirit), God will not only warn and guide you, but He will protect you as well, and comfort you, too. And, you will never be alone talking to yourself, because you'll be talking with your very Creator, who knows your deepest secrets, and loves you beyond measure. ❤
