Ep. 018 Birdsville Track || Marree || Birdsville || Big Red.
In this video, we arrive in the remote town of Marree in northern South Australia where we check out a brief story on the cattle king, Sydney Kidman, Tom Kruse's old mail truck and the old Ghan line.
We then head into the pub to find out any information on the track condition, and to check out the Tom Kruse museum (and of course have a beer!).
The next morning we woke late (as usual) and prepared both car and vehicle for the 517kms of the Birdsville Track. We aired down the tyres on both the car and van, we taped the rear bed pop-out section and the door of the van, checked the air filter on the car and greased the rubber seal and just a general check over of car and van to make sure nothing was a miss (all was good) we then headed off.
We made it to Mungerannie Station on the first night, then to Birdsville the next day. All in all the track was in good condition, we only uncounted one patch of bulldust which wasn't very big. Once in Birdsville we had to go and see Big Red (the biggest and first sand dune if you're crossing the Simpson desert). Of course we had to have dinner at the iconic Birdsville Pub along with some well deserved beers. We end the our time in Birdsville with a camel pie at the iconic Birdsville Bakery.

You have just left Maree , thanks for lots of good information and well done on showing us what you are looking at, so many people that do these KZread videos have the camera on themselves the whole time, we hate that and stop watching so well done to you guys, keep up the good work, I’m a couple of years behind you but still enjoying it.

G’day. Ive watched your journey from the start. Please, please do something to fix your audio……..It’s horrible! You can hardly hear voices when you’re in the car and there is an annoying muffled noise while you’re driving and then some music comes on and we get blasted out of the room. Then some more audio comes on as you’re reading the signs and it once again blasts us out. It’s “hectic” all over the shop and needs to be corrected. Thanks for the vlogs though, apart from the real lousy sound quality, we find it interesting.

Thankyou for your feedback we will endeavour to work more on the audio as we are already aware this is a weak point for us. We hope too upgrade some of our camera equipment soon also which maybe help.
