Thank you, I find this method creates a more easily customisable terrain than geometry nodes or the ANT Landscape add-on.

A little bit of smoke to the flames could have increased the depth to a pretty good.level but oanyways amazing work

That’s awesome I was wondering what are some of the best ways to displace trees and grass and the botaniq addon sure helps with that it looks like! Thanks for kickstarting more ideas for me with landscapes!

@@baeac It's very difficult to find tutorials for this exact stage of learning, so I really appreciated this video. I'm still very much a beginner, but it's increasingly hard to follow tutorials for people who have never touched the software before, because the actual steps for creating something tend to be scattered between explanations of the fundamentals. But I also can't just jump into intermediate projects without getting stuck on more advanced functions, so a step-by-step demonstration of how to set up a more complex scene like this is exactly the right speed. I think it especially helps that you still say which keys you're using for basic functions, but when you stop to explain things it's stuff that's specifically applicable to the project, like how to change colors in the addon. So I'm still getting reminders that keep me from getting stuck, but without having to think about anything but the new information.

Amazing process !. I was wondering if, the right wing of the plane would break upon crash with the tree, and some broken branches and debris floating in the pond, would add cool storytelling, apart from this. it is truly inspirational, ..... keep up the great work !

The farther away you are, the lesser the details required on your models. Arrays, textures, decals, and environment brushes are your friends.

Very nice video that shows the basics how to create an environment. I'm a bit sad you skipped over how to do the trees, though. A rather major part of the scene.

After watching it back I get why you say that but essentially its the same as the grass but then with tree models. I generally set the transform to global z with trees tho instead of the normal which I use for the grass

Straight away there is a mistake. You start by saying "let's delete the default cube" but show yourself deleting the cube, the light, and the camera. This could cause confusion with the beginners you say this video is for.
