I thought as a kid "dang, i'm gonna find a guy that's gonna love me sooo much that, distance and time won't separate us" and dang it she's right. everyone find someone you love no matter what. no matter how far apart you'll get, the love for eachother won't dissolve away.

That "moon melody" gives me the most inexplicable sense of nostalgia.... It's truly hard to describe, but.... well, what comes to mind is, when I was younger, I would go to the mall with my family, specifically at night during the Winter. It reminds me of innocence and happiness.... things I haven't experienced in a long time. I have no idea why this made me think of that.... but I'm quite grateful. Those are nice memories that I'm pleased to remember once again. :)

I really hope we hear more from Megan eventually... Her voice at the end was hauntingly beautiful, and the sense of desperate longing and despair sounded so artfully laced into every note, stretching out and touching the hearts of so many people. But more than that, I hope she knows we love her work in this, and that we're proud of her, even if she chose not to continue singing. This video, the animation, the music, all of it. It's all deeply engraved in my heart, and I have never been able to forget it, even after all these years and everything I've been through. Whenever I feel a longing for times long past, for memories I desperately and secretly wish to go back to and hold even closer to my heart, I always hear this song quietly playing in the back of my mind.

4 years later and I'm still hoping for a sequel, continuation, *something*. This world is just too beautiful and interesting to leave as a simple short, I feel like there can be a great and complex story behind this! Heck, even I'm considering writing a bit of a continuation and fleshing this already complex world out even more according to how I think of it, though it would be interesting to team up with someone and fleshing it out together or seeing someone else's interpretation of it...

Thing is, there doesn't always have to be a continuation of something left open-ended. I believe this was left like this on purpose, as a sort of ambiguous new "reality" of which we don't have (or really need) a complete story for. You can always hope for more, but at the end of the day what's left of it is still beautiful, and sometimes that's all that's needed.

For me, this animation shows many things, but one of those, is the songwriting process, well, more like how frustrating it can get. In the beginning, she is fiddling with the radio, she's exhausted all the inspiration she can from what's around her, and it means nothing. any more. She then catch some a bit of a tune coming from somewhere deep in her mind. She follows the trail, letting it take her where she needs to go. Here she finds her melody (the other person) and creates the harmony to it. She has her song, and it's beautiful. Their dancing together is her making the rest of the song, but she loses it, the part of her mind is torn from her by something she can't see. She winds up back at the start, with only a small part of the once beautiful song she had.

Now it got recommended to me again after years.. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels a certain way about this animation, especially the melody! It was stuck to my head all the time to the point I actually requested my mother to teach me how to play it in the piano. Would've been glad if the melody was a full song, I'd made it my lullaby by then lol.

An excellent animation in it's own right So, there are 3 meanings of the word "entropy", depending on the context. One is decline of predictability into disorder. (the unplanned, chance meeting of the two characters could be this, maybe?) In thermodynamics it refers to lacking of thermal energy to convert into mechanical work. (The cold and desolate earth is all but stopped in time until the two meet?) The third definition is the rate of information transfer within a message or language. (If we consider the music and dance to be a metaphorical language or message between the two character, this fits.)

They fall in love. The moonlight fades away and he has to go too. He knows of her previous sadness, so in his last moment of life, he sent her a piece of their song, love, reformed self, and a piece of him to be remembered by. Hopefully they will meet agaim if the stars align. Well, that's how I saw it anyways lol

This showed back up in my recommended well over a decade after having watched it for the first time. I'd forgotten just how beautiful it was. The design of the environments and the two characters being so stylized, the colors, and just the *feel* that it all has. I'm glad to have seen this again. It's quite nice.

I can't believe I found this animation again! I was just barely a teen when I first watched this and now I'm going to college soon and going to be an art major. This brings me to tears because I always had this melody in my head and played it on the piano yet I couldn't remember from the life of me where it came from, I just knew it was something with the stars. I love stars as well and the idea of planets and this animation has impacted me since I first watched it. I'm definitely giving this a like because it dang well deserves it. 😭😭💙✨ Made my night so much better.

I know this may be a little selfish of me to ask, and I apologize if it comes across that way, but if you could, do you think you could play it on the piano? I’ve been trying to find the music sheets for this song for years but I can’t seem to find anything. I’d love to learn this piece. Again, I’m sorry if it sounds selfish of me to ask 🙏🏽 💜

Reminds me of the pain of having a wonderful dream where everything seems so... Different... In a good way... Before you are ripped away back to the sobering reality of life with nothing but a fading memory of the journey... Sometimes I feel like I only stay awake to make my next dream a little longer and a little better and sometimes I feel like the only reason to get out of bed is to begin the process of starting my next dream... Strange how it is the only thing I can truly look forward to...

I've had the exact same thing around a year ago, maybe two years. I had this uncomfortable feeling the whole day, and always thought about the evening, when I would go to sleep. The reality was cold and sober (my parents were also in a divorce) But sleeping and dreaming was great. I also wouldn't want to go back to "normal" living. But, eventually, I saw the meaning of life again and came out of it. I don't know how, but it happened. So, for a little bit support, I know you will look forward to other things too and will see the meaning of life too. Until that time, I wish you good luck.

This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Every part of this is pure atmosphere, storytelling, and emotion, all of it without a single line of dialogue. This is what I aspire to do. The best part? Even though we all want one, we don't need a movie, or a sequel, or even much of an explanation. We can all come to our own conclusions about what's going to happen. Me personally? I like to think she visits him every night, and they eventually fall in love. I'd like to think that at some point she's able to permanently stay with him, however that may come about. One can only hope.

This animation heavily influenced my artstyle when I was much younger. The video came out when I was 13, and I found myself enchanted by this sweet, sorrowful short story ever since. Thank you so much for making this, I will forever appreciate the amount of influence the animation had on me both story-wise and art-wise 💚

I hope this doesn't sound TOO weird, but...I don't think I've ever been as in love with an animated character as I am with that girl.

Rach Frisella I think it should be less strange to fall in love with animated characters. Because, at the end of the day, people all end up as memories eventually. People, places, experiences in general. And in the minds of human beings, it's all the same thing. There's no difference between an experience in the world we call reality, or the world of a video game, or the world of a book. Relatively speaking, it's all equally real. So there shouldn't be anything wrong with feeling such things for a character just because they're animated.

Awe, I remember watching this video 4 years ago in 2015. It's 2019. "Can never let go...of this memory's glow" always gets me in the feels. "Happiness falls...sends me deeper into sorrow." I guess I can relate to those specific words as I never let go of my past. I'm scarred. I always miss my crushes and their buses. I remember them in the same city as me but one moved and one completely changed for the worst. Like someone said somewhere in the comments, "It's it's hard not to be selfish and keep them forever." They were replying to another person's comment about their interpretation: "It's like meeting strangers every now and then; they may change our lives and they leave a mark behind." Something similar there written in the comments. What they said has got me thinking or even considering because I read many people's comments before this year (2019), and they're one of the most recent ones (2 years ago). I didn't see this video up to recently, but I remember it so well with previous comments talking about how lonely the character was. She was isolated on somewhere or something. This could mean depression. "Fading away...into the light of day. Morning is cold, lonely, and gray..." Man, it hits in the feels whatever we humans are going through. We're emotional people. Isn't there a meaning to the word: Entropy? It's like we're on different melodies; our paths, and we may run into one another and either help one out or completely fade away without them or us leaving something (positive?) behind. But we all do have some kind of mark that does go down in history. I wish I could have thought about all this before things got worse. I always laugh about things especially when it's entertaining to me or funny / fun. When it comes to summer, it's all about thinking about the previous school year and regrets. I always think about my crushes and getting rejected. I don't believe that there is "love at first sight" like I'm happy and fine being alone. I really am, but why do I still have crushes? Why do I worry about others so much? I don't know them..and sometimes I wish I did. I wish I knew about many peoples I've met or will meet.
