I figured that it may be helpful for those that have never done it to get to see first hand what it's like without any skill. It was a learning experience for sure but I had a killer time doing it and I LOVE how it turned out!! Got me wanting to try a few DE heads now to match 🤣👍 Thank you so much for the comment and for the positive energy my friend!!

Seriously... That has happened 2 times now where I just stop at gold BECAUSE it's beautiful!!! It really POPs when you have it in person... But for science we had to try that lightning effect and that is better with some variation in colors. I REALLY want to get up to green and yellow on the next one and add waves to the finish rather than sharp lines.. I think that may be really unique. Thanks my friend for always showing your support!!

Who in the world is having more fun than you!? Nobody. Nobody at all. We need more fire, Josh. This was awesome! Actually, I have a serious request. I know it's not good to try to bend teeth on a razor (or a human). But I've seen it described how annealing works with slowly bending teeth. Heat up, cool down, bend a teeny tiny bit. Repeat. I'm sure you'll be able to find more info. I would absolutely love to see a video where you try that, even if it fails. I think it would be something a lot of people would be interested in actually, regardless of how it turns out. Breaking it might help someone just as much as getting it to work. Just some beat up razor that it wouldn't hurt to mess up. No double rings, please!

Excellent idea Lee thanks for the suggestion!! Soooo I know Matt from RE and I just had a long discussion about that. He said he tried everything, it is a 50/50 chance even if done perfect to break and that those are bad odds when a razor is still perfectly usable with a bent tooth. I kind of agree with that which is why I haven't done it - even if I make it perfect - it may give someone else bad information that leads them to ruin something that otherwise would be ok. Thanks so much my friend!!

@@SubieShaves Yeah, that's a good point. If you do it well on a 30s New, someone may try it on an older thinner toothed razor that may be more rare, and they really want it to be perfect. Then they'll get mad and come after the whole squad. I don't need to be looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life because someone broke a tooth!

Good work Josh! I wouldn't have guessed using Ferric Chloride, but that's good to know. I use Ferric all the time for the etching I do and it's pretty potent. Having used it so much it definitely makes me nervous quenching something so hot in it. It's really easy to get a nasty burn from just a drop of it on your skin. Yikes!

Buddy if you drop that titanium into those glass tubs they are gonna shatter really cold glass coming in contact with really hot metal makes it fracture

Thank you for the feedback! 👍 I've not had any issues, but - I know you make a very good point. I always wear glasses and gloves for this reason. Ive tried stainless instead of glass but still has issues with the TI leeching oxides when it's quenched. These bakesafe glass bowls have given me the best results this far, but I am always happy to hear alternatives and try them out! Thank you again for the comment and for the word of precaution! I'm DEFINITELY still learning how to get the best results with titanium.

@@SubieShaves yea but one time dropping it could ruin that counter top or your day having to clean all that up. You could use deep plastic containers like protein shakers also going straight down vertically might leave a better pattern on a long cylinder the “lighting” pattern follows the steam as it’s released off the hot metal

@@Justthemow excellent idea!!! I have an empty one currently actually!! Will give this a try and see how it does out in the garage. I worry that it will absolutely melt through the plastic though. Also great suggestions with the dipping motion! I like that it can all be done differently to apply a different effect 👍
