As A fellow ENTP, I would like to point out your negligiance of "assuming" that the players were in a starting position. For all you know, The game could be 60 moves in and you might end up with a position like this, however unlikely, a possibility still exists.

ENTP here with a career mostly as a private equity investment professional and some investment banking. Have tried some timid swings as an entrepreneur on my own as well a following someone elses lead but have found so far that I struggle the organization and not getting side tracked or I wing up digging too deep into the crystal ball and find that the probabilities within the risk/reward balance don't stack up favorably at the time even though I have gained the skills, resources, and vision to have a better shot than others. I imagine there are some others who can relate.

ENTP here, working as a nurse. Oddly enough, that profession isn't a bad fit. I believe there are better career choices for ENTPs, but it works for me, so ehh 🤷🏽 I have supperiors I can rely on, but I am also my own boss while working on/with my assigned patients. I have a decent amount of freedom as to in what order I may choose to target my objectives, I can use my ingenuity and creativity to perform tasks efficiently and most importantly, I have a ton of social contact during work. I constantly engage with patients, relatives and coworkers. That said, it is quite a chore at times. Some days, my social battery drains on a rapid pace and I rarely go out and do stuff after work. One of the reasons I work part-time, tbh. Not all of the stuff I see is easy to stomach and some patients are REALLY obnoxious. It hardly bothers me, though, and my coworkers are genuinely perplexed as to how I'm always this high-spirited during work. I wear a lot of XSFJ masks and fake sympathy, though. It's not like I don't care, but rather that it just doesn't faze me. It is all just work for me, and during my shift, I'll try to make my patients happy and content, but as soon as I'm done and on my way home, I couldn't care less.

I've been surprised whenever I see it said that Healthcare is a poor place for ENTP. I do care about my coworkers and patients, but can compartmentalize. I'm thought of as a problem solver, a resource, and for being calm when it hits the fan, or during a chaotic shift. I genuinely enjoy learning and knowing many interesting things and procedures. I have always worked on high energy fast paced units, (major surgical floors, orthopedics, etc). I, too, stay high spirited during work. I've worked middle management and risk management; loved the knowledge, hated the desk! I have hobbies that are creative, like perennial gardening and home renovation, volunteering for Habitat, and hobbies that get me into active like kayaking and motorcycling. I was happy to see your comment, loley

@castironwitch while I somewhat agree with that statement and relate to your experience a lot, I also firmly believe that a different profession/field of work would suit my abilities and talents much better. Same, in nearly 40 years, I've never cried at work, for example. When I was younger, I know I came off as callus and loud, etc. I do now see lots of other avenues I'd be happy and successful with. Self awareness and opportunity were lacking when I was "launching". I was a late bloomer; I understand now how that's part of the ENTP chemistry. I think if I'd had WIT or similar examples available or been able to press my parents, I'd have become a contractor or carpenter. What would you be?
