PREPPING THE SUBSTRATE OR SURFACE
One of the best ways to prep your surface is diamond grinding. You can rent concrete grinders at most rental stores. The next best way is using an etching chemical to etch the surface of the concrete. You can also sand the surface if the before mentioned methods can’t be done. If you can only prep minimally or can’t prep at all we have a Prep Replacement Primer to help achieve a strong bond. We always recommend prepping the concrete surface first.
PRIMING THE SUBSTRATE OR SURFACE
Priming the floor is simple and fast. Mix your pre-measured primer then dip and roll the pigmented primer across the surface until the floor is completely pigmented. Wait 1 hr (or until tacky and not coming off to the touch) and start applying the Base Coat.
METALLIC EPOXY COAT
Applying the Base Coat and Highlights is the funnest part. Mix your pre-measured Base Coat, pour it out across the floor and begin to spread out the epoxy with your rubber squeegee getting it as even as you can. Our Epoxy self-levels so don’t worry about getting it perfectly even. Quickly roll over the surface with your paint roller to help even out the epoxy. Now mix your pre-measured highlight color and apply it to the base color, then blend it to your desired look.
HIGH WEAR TOP COAT
We offer 2 different gloss sheens in our Urethane Top Coat. The Top Coat comes with the option to have a High Gloss or a Matte Finish. It needs to be rolled out super thin and leaves a minor texture which gives it the extra durability. Apply it within 24 hrs of installing your floor kit or you will need to sand the surface before applying it.

I have a concrete floor with some small holes from tack strip and has some paint on the concrete as well. Any prep tips? Do I need a primer? Thanks

In my basement I have one room with my furnce and water heater and I don’t necessarily want to put an epoxy floor in there. Do you recommend doing in there or will I be okay with a straight edge transition

How much and what type of epoxy would I need for my basement it’s about 1000 square feet and I’m assuming there are cracks I will need to fill after grinding down the floor itself

Going to do this for my basement floor. Other then cleaning and degreasing the concrete, do I need to put any other coat on it first ?

Use bondo to fill any cracks. You also want to use use a machine to cause abrasion on the floor so the epoxy can form a strong bond with the floor
If the basement is not empty can you butt together 2 separate pours? Move contents to 1 half, pour the open space then once dry move contents to the other half and do a second pour?

You can but the floor design might not be seamless. It's simply best to do flooring projects in sections but all at once to ensure the finish is the same like demonstrated in this video 👉 kzread.info/dash/bejne/qa5rtqqJgdjemKQ.html If you have no other option, you simply have no other options and can just make it work!

@@LeggariProducts much appreciated. I cannot empty out the basement so would need to do a section at a time. I understand there will be an inconsistent transition. What would be the best way to do it? Would tapping it off work or would I need some of the type of barrier?

Add silica sand if concerned about wet traffic areas

what happens when you want to replace the floor? that's why I prefer a floating floor, you can rip it up in 10 minutes, and in a day you can have a new in style floor.

How about leveling when the floor is off by 1/4 or more over 10lf or small humps wouldn’t the epoxy level itself and make the hump real thin???????????????????

It has to be mixed quickly you see how they do it in parts. That’s cause they set up a bit in 30 minutes even though it takes a day to get solid but it will still be soft another 3-7 days to cure

Extremely beautiful, but I'm sure that it's also highly flammable as well. If one dropped a lit match or cigarette on the floor, how long before the whole house went up in flames?

Doesn’t any floor get damaged in time? I think it lasts longer and and every once in a while I think you buff them like the janitor does in schools.

I've tried this on a job for the first time this ŵeek. For some reason I'm getting bubbles in the main coat but they aren't rising to the surface but you can see them. Can you please tell me if that is normal or if I'm doing something wrong?
