Interesting that the Arabic word العذاب and its derivatives are translated as "punish" or "punishment" in English translations of the Quran. In fact the word "punish" in the English translations of the Quran are used for Arabic words that do not directly translate to it. For me, lectures like these are important to learn/study of intended perspectives of the Quran.

I wish he would be more vocal on the plight of Palestine

Allah punished them when their time came. I don't know if you know this, but when someone's time limit of testing ends, punishment start right from that moment. That's why there is punishment of grave. Punishment doesn't hold back until the big judgment day. Allah has given each human being a certain time limit to repent.

Ustadh explained in his other lectures how Allah brings divine punishment in this world for nations that was shown a divine miracle, yet they still disbelieve.
