Check the quest related village directly north that has 7 or 8 wild boars running around. It has the blocks for the pre-fabricated buildings that are in the starter area villages

Nice video! Does this grant xp? Would like to unlock it to build when I am solo but not sure if I need to wait for my friend to unlock chest. I dont wan't to gain too much xp compared to him.

You can get some in the starting area, by digging debre. My question is what do I do with it, and can I combine it to make regular building blocks.
