Please take note I have misunderstood the Rake Mechanic completely - I will need to make another guide for this to explain it better. Some of it I would call an exploit, which might eventually be fixed - but the factual use for the rake is still pretty useful! I absolutely love the terrain manipulation in Enshrouded! It opens up so many more creative options in building. This game grabbed me in the demo, but now it is quickly becoming my #1 game. Keen nailed exploration. Dying doesn't make me want to shut the game down like Valheim (which I love and have 1,500+ hours in). I don't suffer frustration over hours of lost progress. Or how in the world I'm going to get my stuff back. Instead I feel inspired to get right back out there, retrieve my stuff and carry on. Yesterday I accidentally glided into some lava in the shroud. I thought my stuff was surely gone, but instead my corpse marker was there right on the edge of the lava. Nice! The world is huge and incredibly diverse. The huge, old growth forest biome is simply the best forest that I have ever wandered in in any game. Period. Travel around the huge map is just right with the mix of gliders, running and the Ancient Spires. I can't wait to explore the savanna and the desert biomes. Every time I head out to complete a specific task/quest (like getting the saw blade for the carpenter), it turns into a three day adventure, like every time! That speaks volumes to me in terms of immersion. Two hours later: "Wait what did I come out here for?" lol Building is taking a little getting used to, especially if you have clocked a lot of build time in Valheim, but it is rich with building tiles, decorations and crafting stations to suit any creative palette. Those who are into hardcore, FP combat (Ex. Final Fantasy XVI) will likely not be impressed, but for me it's fun, fluid and action packed. The grapple can give me a backdoor escape as well as get me to specific places. I really appreciate the handcrafted map. Many times already in a very sketchy place trying to sneak around danger, I find a ledge or an alcove to slip into, and it's clear it was placed there for that purpose. Happy camper here! : )

The game was very forgiving yesterday, dying in the canyony shroud because I missed the glide and waking up to my tombstone in front of my nose at the flame altar I put down jic was a nice feeling. Game crashed in a spire and same thing again, tombstone right in front of me at my previous altar a few cliffs back. Like the op said, makes for much less frustrating gameplay. Mind you, I have lost my stuff completely in the red lava a number of times near the Ancient Bridge 🙄😁

@Graybeard_ I'm 2000 plus hours in in Valheim, totally love that game, and me too - love its building and found Enshrouded's build mechanic tough after V. But getting more into it now my basic house looks so cosy, plus getting used to it all, and want to take it further.

Definitely don't give the rake enough credit. It is supreme for leveling out an area, not -simply- flattening it, because it will lift the ground up to match elevation as well. But more importantly, it spreads terrain. You can use a single farm soil, flower, or road block and then freely spread it around.

There is a big downside. The camera. It can't work in tight spaces and the distance to aim your template is limited, as there is no freecam to do the work cleanly. First person would fix this easily as you can have pinpoint accuracy, and freecam would aid in building up in the sky.
