Enshrouded build -a fun starting base with grass roof, building guide

Ойындар

A fun build in Enshrouded that works perfectly as a starting base. No need of any high level materials. I also showcase a bunch of building tricks including how to get cobblestone road and lot of other nice looking details by using materials in smart ways. I also show a quick and easy way to make a cellar for the house.
I also explain where and how to get the materials used that you don't simply get by picking up stuff in the starting zone.

Re-upload because I had made a blunder in editing and all the footage the first minutes was shifted by quite a lot towards the right hand side. It was bothering me so much I just had to re upload despite knowing it most likely will hurt the views.

Thank you for the compliment and the time stamps. This reminds me I should probably look into how to add chapters to my videos. I'm still a very small fish in the youtube sea and this is very much late night hobby level so there is a lot of stuff I can do better production wise. Adding chapters/timestamps is probably one of the easier ways I can improve my videos to give the viewers a better experience.

1 addition you can do is. Cut out a few stones from the top of chimney and put small torches in. You will see some from the top of the chimney it adds a small detail

I actually tried that originally hoping to see some smoke from the chimney but thought I couldn't really notice anything visually standing on the ground next to the house despite putting the torch quite close to the exit of the chimney so I ended up skipping it.

I like this, lots of cool ways to mix materials and looks. For the flower soil (and other special terrains) you can duplicate them with the rake, exactly as you did to spread the road - place one block of flower or farm soil, then rake it out over an area and mine it.

It takes a bit longer, but if you use the 4x4x4 landscaping block, you can right click with it to remove terrain & get the material. I used that method for leveling/excavating stuff early on when resources like stone & dirt were still pretty tight.

Mind blown about the roof blocks creating arches. I'm still new to the game so I haven't experimented much at all yet. The grass roof is also brilliant. I will steal this idea for my eventual forest cabin build. I'm holdong off building something elaborate until I have all base building stuff unlocked. My own base so far is just tiny houses for all my NPC as a kind of cliffside village off the first spire. Even basic stuff looks really nice in this game. I can see myself playing this game for a long time and it's not even a full release yet. Thanks for all these ideas! This game's base building tools are amazing. You're super creative with the tools at your disposal. Not sure I would ever have figured that out by myself.

Even if you get more blocks and furniture later I really love that they actually let you create something quite nice early on. To many games (looking at you Nightingale!!!) hold out on pretty much all the interesting stuff until the very late game. I also see myself playing this game for quite some time. The major title I see competing with Enshrouded for my time Is Light No Fire made by Hello Games, but it has no release date yet.

  • @goblingoddessgaming608

@@Ketmo785 I'm also looking forward to Light No Fire! I have about 800h in NMS because of base building and I didn't even do any glitch building. Just using the vanilla tools. I hope Hello Games figures out how to make terrain edits persistent like I hope is the case in Enshrouded. That was a real bummer in that game. You could never terraform anything without it growing back. That's the brilliant thing about Enshrouded. There's also no base objects limit here as far as I can see. Very much looking forward to how HG improves on the NMS procedural generation. What I love about Enshrouded is that it's a handcrafted map that makes exploration fun. NMS is really shallow in that respect. It's more a tech demo marvel than a game that is fun to explore for long. After 30h you've seen everything there is in that game. One thing I hope Enshrouded gets sorted out is protecting your base from griefers. I was told that anybody on your public server can take all your stuff and destroy your base. That's terrible multiplayer design. NMS got that sorted out eventually. I'd love to share my world and let others see what I build. Fingers crossed they make bases protected in the future. I could see myself exploring other people's worlds for inspiration.

  • @Ketmo785

    @Ketmo785

    3 ай бұрын

Yep. If you want your stuff safe, play on a password protected server and only let friends in. What I hope Light no Fire does different from No mans sky is co-op. In NMS you can really feel the co-op was just pasted on at a later date. Most stuff is impossible to do together. You end up playing side by side and not together. You have to have separate bases for the main mission to progress. You can not share a freighter etc. I hope Light No Fire will be design for co-op from the ground up. That you can do main quests together. That all unlocks for base building etc can be done together with other players.

@@Ketmo785 Minor gripes I have with co-op is that if my friend talks to an NPC I cannot have that conversation anymore. And loot doesn't spawn for both. Playing with friends it's fine, you can decide who gets what loot. But if I were to play with random people they might take all the loot and I only get XP for killing stuff. This game does not seem to be designed to be played with random people. Doesn't bother me much, I rarely play online with strangers. Just feels like an unfair system right now. Gosh, I'm so hooked on this game now. The moment I get off work I fire up this game and play for hours. Not good for my social life, lol. It doesn't feel like Early Access at all. Everything just works. Don't encounter any bugs at all. Smooth experience.

It sure is very polished for an Early access title. The building systems is really what makes it stand out for me thought. Once you got all the high tier armour and weapons and have explored the map most survival games end. The building is what keeps you playing.@@goblingoddessgaming608

nice little build, really fun and cozy. You talk about how snapping often causes more trouble than help, but I find that I'll place the first one or two pieces without snapping to make sure the alignment is correct, then turn on snapping to easily snap to the correctly aligned pieces. This helps minimize how often you put one out of place right in the middle of what you're doing and it makes filling in the middle of floors/ceilings/roofs actually go a lot faster
