Enormous Glacier Calvings montage
A three minute montage of some large glacier calvings I've managed to film over the past few years whilst on various assignments in the high arctic. All of these glaciers are in Svalbard and Alaska.
Calving is absolutely a natural glacial occurrence, what is unnatural now is that rate at which it is happening and this is well documented. Our glaciers are melting at an unprecedented rate. Recently I returned to a location in Svalbard where I had not been for five years. The glacier had retreated so many miles that the glacier was now three smaller glaciers and entire bay was unrecognisable compared to my previous visit.

Thanks @lionhawk thanks for the follow
I’ve binged a lot of calving videos lately and this video is great, but the last clip is probably the biggest ice fall in the shortest time I’ve ever seen. Amazing- thank you.
This is one of the BEST!! No jerking the camera or panning in and out. Love the shooters!!! Saw a few in Glacier Bay!!!
This was breathtaking and terrifying seeing so much of it collapsing.
Look at that pure blue ice 🧊 Probably hasn’t been seen for decades/centuries!
Wow. I didn't think I could be impressed anymore with calving videos. This was really good.

I don't know why this is so much fun to watch, but I'm mesmerized by it.
G'day, Mr. Sidey! Wow, those were epic! All that beautiful blue!
Thanks for uploading
Having seen quite a few of these glacial videos, I was getting bored with them. This far exceeded my expectations. The close-ups and following an ice chunk down. I felt I was there with super powers to zoom in close and control time...
I find watching these to be very relaxing. I have been to Alaska a few times, and have seen glaciers, but have never witnessed a calving. I would be in awe.
Very nice.I could watch these all day. Great video, I love how you just let it play with the nature sounds.

Sure did, that’s what we call a shooter, a piece of submerged ice breaking off underwater. They can appear without warning and be deadly.

True sir. These people do nothing for the nature but sit down relaxing and seeing it vanishing.
It's an amazing display but we must take a moment to realize why this is happening and that it's never coming back

Além de estar impressionada, estou com medo do que isso pode causar a todos nós em poucas décadas, é lamentável q seja nós os causadores desde fenômeno destrutivo.
What did the water say to the glacier, why don't you drop in sometime
