There was an horrific attack on a 19 year old girl who had her face slashed in Dublin recently. I am confident that the assailant will do less jail time than Mr Burke.

Is it also not unusual for someone being sent to prison for refusing to be coerced into using language he does not agree with. Is that not unconstitutional.? The whole thing is a mockery of justice.

Wonderful Irish Court system just like the Irish Government. Private Cathal Crotty beat the living daylights out of innocent Natasha O’Brien in an unprovoked attack which was captured on CCTV etc, and Crotty received a suspended Sentence. Enoch Burke refused to refer to either a boy or girl as THEY/ THEM (which refers to more than 1 person) and Enoch was Sacked from his Profession as a brilliant Teacher, was fined a huge amount of Money and is incarcerated in Mountjoy Prison by the same Irish Courts - with Criminals, for over 325 days. Bearing in mind - a Male can never become a Female - and a Female can never become a Male. Well done by the Management (Meow🐱🐱🐱🐱) of Wilson's Hospital School. Believe it not. 😮😮😮

What a silly man. Parents have really messed up their kids. Despite their admirable academic achievements, they have no idea how to behave in public and make their arguments in a reasonable fashion.

​@@RWBKelly he wasn't locked up for putting his case or argument to anyone. He was locked up for repeatedly breaking a High Court Barring order that school got against him to stop him trespassing after he was suspended for gross misconduct.

This, and all the other ones involving this case. A good amount of it is definitely misfortunates from elsewhere trying to make their position appear more widely-held (and somehow acceptable?) than it actually is in Ireland, but I suspect there's definitely bad-faith actors in there too. You don't see them in Terry's other comments sections, either, which leads to me to think of possible organisation/co-ordination in these efforts.

The comments section in any video on the migrant situation in Ireland is full of bots ,fake accounts and ai. This right wing push in Ireland is more to do with China and Russia destabilising Europe than the problems with immigration. But unfortunately a lot of the people involved with these protests don't see this or where this could finish up. The Burkes have had multiple days in court and understand our court system, so know exactly where all this is going. If you keep banging your head on the wall its not someone else's fault you have brain damage.

Thanks Terry, clear explanation about how Enoch could have the original court order set aside. It was the one thing I always noticed. How come the original order was never tested. At least we will know a bit more next month. It breaks my heart to see a person locked up. Seems such a waste. At least the school made an effort to let him out for the summer.

It's also a political hot potato. The Gov doesn't want Enoch to have a "win" in the current Woke climate. If the constitutionality of the original court decision/order was tested in a rigorous and fair manner by a higher Court, then you could also have egg on the face of the High Court. I don't know how expensive it would be for the Burke's to fund an appeal to the Court of Appeal. There is no doubt that the Irish Courts are conscious of politics and often endeavour to not ruffle the feathers of the political parties who got them onto the bench.

The previous Judge on the barring order a year ago ruled that his dismissal by the collages own internal hearing was lawful and you said it was for not obeying an order by the School, when the barring order was granted on foot of his behaviour that may cause issues for the school and that was the reason and only reason for his Dismissal considered by he Schools own internal hearing regards his behaviour when making a complaint and his complaint was not considered by the school at all. there are may cases when Dismissal of this type that have resulted in massive pay-outs and cost to employers that have occurred in Ireland. The School has clearly used the High Court to attempt to Circumvent statutory Employment Laws and Undermined any future Independent tribunal by Pre -Judgment and Brocken the rule of Sub-Judice. It appears to one law for the school and a different law for Mr Burke. There has clearly leaking confidential legally sensitive information and attempts to discredit him so as to not get his Just rewards, and corrupt and influence any independent statutory tribunal.

If people or a person want to help out there fellow humans why dont they do social work not wasting there life in jail and questioning the law thats there for us al Many people work in silence assisting there fellow beings .Not harassing politicians and others that are trying to do good and make a few bob to put food on the table

Such a disaster for this school, their legal team and the judiciary. What a hole they have dug for themselves.

Is it not just wonderful that the Courts have no real work to do that they can have a dedicated Court for the Burke family ........... 🙄 Imagine if this was a family from the Traveller community - the hate would be palpable from the same folks that support these people and their egregious behaviour.

He was sacked due to his misconduct in the workplace. He was allegedly threatening the principal and other staff members. He is only using it as a platform to showcase his religious beliefs. There should be a complete media black out on the whole family and stop giving them a public platform.

You should get up to speed. He wouldn't be receiving his salary if he was sacked and the principal bullying him backfired when the parents of the child in question made it known they had not asked or instructed the principal to give any instruction to staff how to address their child.

It would be humane to put him out of the jail on the last day of the leaving certificate. According to himself he will trespass but it doesn't matter until late August and at that point he would rightfully be detained again.

Your wrong there was something stopping the second judge overruling the first judge both judges are high court judges. A judge is overruled by a higher court not by another judge in the same court. As the judge said that's a matter for the court of appeal to over rule a high court judge.

We have always supported the whole Burke family this preductise shame on the education system

Everything I know thinks he's a fool and we're wasting time and money on him, they are saying lets set up a room in the prison bring him to it and have his employment appeal so if he's confirmed as dismissed we can stop paying him, they are saying lets stop bringing him back to court leave him in jail till he asks to come before the court and purge his contempt and if he never does well he can stay in jail for life then, they are saying lets make him pay the fines. Despite what you say about the Burke case, Irish people are concerned about the legal system. In my view Burke is in jail for refusing to implement transgender policy in his job as a teacher in a school in Ireland. I fully agree with his principle in this matter. It is tyrannical to insist that he change his normal speech and refer to a boy as other than a boy. Is there no free speech in this country anymore ?
