As far as I'm aware, the player plays on a midi keyboard which is connected to a laptop preloaded with a virtual instrument (hammond organ). This virtual instrument has a bunch of preset sounds and tunings, which change at each rehearsal number (note the different sounds at each number). Basically the physical keyboard isn't what is making the sounds, it's just a midi controller for the digital instrument. Poppe used this concept in other pieces too, such as Rad.
