One of the most moving and beautiful pieces I've ever heard is his re-working of Deborah's Theme (from Once Upon a Time in the West) to a very tender, ethereal song sung by Celine Dion, lyrics by Alan and Marilyn Bergman, produced by Quincy Jones. Look for the studio recording video on utube. Very beautiful in every way.

What an incredible person. I LOVE the typewriter piece! I swear I played 9:00 to 9:25 on this video at least a thousand times. I wish I had the recording of it. Man...just those twenty-five seconds of the typewriter piece is just genius...it may be a simple piece but still genius. If anyone knows how to get a copy PLEASE reply to this comment.

Ennio's most gorgeous best collaboration with Edda dell'Orso is La tenda rossa, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good The Bad and The Ugly and Pensiero stupendo. I'd rank the first three his best soundtracks along with The Mission, La califfa, The Untouchables and Cinema Paradiso. He was not nominated for an Oscar for any of these except for The Untouchables and The Mission due to oversights or foreign language "exclusion". He also was nominated for Oscars for 3 other scores including Malena.

Nella fantasia (Gideon's Oboe) and La califfa are the most popular and beautiful for singing.
