13:58 "You need hardship to grow you" really left an impression on me because I always lament hardship. You are 100% right about my needing a push to get me to do something. 1:11:40 "Things that take others a year take them 10." This is so true for me. This is such a well crafted video. The concept behind using a song to illustrate a trait and then the explanations that you offered were incredible. Thank you so much for the time you invested in researching information and making this video.

Really found this powerful and a very accurate description of the inner workings of a nine. I consider myself a 9w1. I skimmed the enneagram about 20 years ago. Surprise-I didn’t go deep. I’m in the 3rd third of my lifespan now. Time to wake up, dust off the cobwebs and make the most of time I have left. My last notation I made-I do have the fire and grit to go the distance. Many thanks to you 🙏

Great video. Nines, enjoy your power that you have, Don't be small be big be proud. you can really make a big difference in a lot of people's lives By helping them see the truth With your empathy and Compassion And your ability To see things in different perspectives And all sides. You can't help everyone and not everyone wants to be helped. You may piss some people off but if you help that person it's worth it , even if they , never talk to you again. A covert narcissist really changed my life and believe it or not. Made me a stronger person. I learned not to take everybody at face value, Took up boxing, weight. Lifting eating healthy really helped of my self-esteem. And I I'm a little cocky now but that's OK I needed it. Right now I'm even debating religious facts with my super religious co-worker. Who's a enneagram 1, istj. We're actually friends, but boy, can we both be stubborn? LOL.. But it's good that's what you need nines

Having discovered myself as a type 9 recently, I heard "Once in a Lifetime" and thought it resonated with me. I was even thinking of it before you listed it as one of the songs, so I was pleased to see you mentioning it! Also, if you're into fantasy/horror, Clive Barker wrote a novel called "Weaveworld", which has a very type 9 moment in it. I don't want to spoil it, but it's definitely worth reading or listening to if you haven't read it.

Have you ever seen a 9 who was struggling with derealization? Like feeling like they're almost in a dreamlike state, not totally present. That's something I've been struggling with constantly for some years now and it seemed to totally come out of the blue and I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out where it came from so I can hopefully overcome it. And lately I've been listening to a lot of enneagram stuff and I keep hearing mentions of 9s experiencing disassociation, so I'm really curious if you've seen that before or if you have any insight at all into that. I’ve been so behind on responding to KZread messages, my apologies 🙏🏼 I’m working on a book this year and fully immersed. As for the dissociation, definitely see it. It’s like a 9 is in a fog and not with us for a bit. With close friends and clients I’ll give them this feedback and often recommend a deep meditation practice where they lock in to being present, they may need to cater it to them as a nine specifically, so maybe some traditional meditations don’t work so you’d have to be creative. I think a difference that made me lean to the 9 more was asking myself if I tend to dwell in melancholy (a characteristic of a 4), and I do kinda but not for too long. This is all the things 😂 You are officially given reprieve my friend…. Till about 5-10 hours when I drop the video on the 4’s and 9’s in relationships and set the crosshairs on both you and your son 👊🏼 Prepare with a good breakfast and some meditation Drew

@@drewnewkirk Any help at this point. I've always been a go get it kind of guy. Stand on your own. Be of service. Good isn't something you are, it's something you do. That girl will waste her life in her bedroom if I let her. I'm at a loss here...

@@user-yc1vi7pu6w ugh. I hear you. I’ve been at this a long time and have worked with many teens. But often, guns again, I end up working with the parents instead as it is difficult to watch something you don’t have as much control/ability to change as you’d like. It’s a very entrapping experience for sure.
