From what I can tell the differences are: Dot applied indices The 12 o'clock triangle has a blunted tip No red-tipped second hand 2 tone sunburst dial 2 tone bezel from 12 to 3 Bezel only has second markers from 12 to 3 The bezel insert is glossy vs. matte Slightly different case finishing All very subtle, but it changes the overall feel of this watch to be sportier, while the Gen 1 has a dressier look to it. I'm sure this will appeal to Ray and Mako owners looking for an upgrade, but I prefer the Gen 1 as its design feels more unique, like a barracuda, whereas this one looks more like Submariner derivative. Plus I love the matching splashes of red on the second hand + date on Sundays.

Just put this one on my wrist for the first time today. Love it. Been a Ray II (orange) wearer for couple years and although my least expensive diver, it was my favorite. This new blue/green Kamasu looks exactly the same as the Ray in terms of size and indices but love the upgraded glass. Same movement too, and both are running about +5/day. Unreal value and user satisfaction level. My higher priced watches seem to sit in the box, but my Orients go to work and play, hot tubs and showers with me daily and there is no worries. Orient as a company seems very solid, albeit confusing with their various names for essentially very similar watches. Add solid end links, a 50% bigger crown and the world would be perfect.

It is a near perfect watch in my opinion, especially if taking into consideration the price. My only complaints are the same: bracelet and crown. The bracelet is easy to change though and there are plenty of aftermarket options (like StrapCode as an example). The crown not so much, but I can live with it. The rest of the watch is really really good. I too own various other divers and Orients just win the affordable category for me. They wear exremely good, in my opinion mainly because of the sloped bezels. Every other brand in the same category and price range is making their bezels extremely tall and vertical, giving their watches a bad look imo, making them appear taller than what they really are.

This new addition is more beautiful than old version !❤️❤️❤️Love it!

Just got mine today,. such a beautiful watch and looks and fits perfectly on my wrist ! Setting the whole thing up later, thanks for the video the colours match exactly as in real life.

Bought two, one for me, one for my brother, insane precision, great watch for the price, Orient rules!

The new one looks smaller and more compact although they are the same. I usually move away from any Rolex looks but this time I believe I will go with the new Kamasu. :) Thanks...

Its far enough away from a Rolex Sub or GMT to be able to walk around with this Orient Diver. Only People who dont know anything about watches will ask if that is a Rolex fake or a Hommage.

I like the red tip on the seconds hand on the version 1, which gives a very nice contrasting look. The new one looks a lot like the Ray, with the round indices. Should have called it the Raymasu?

well yes. But that are really just the round indicies. Case is the same on Kamasu, just with more brushed than polished finishing.

Wowwww!!! very nice diver,cool!!What a fantastic colour inside! Just i would prefered the bezel to be on black,not green,too much green for me.I think it would be a perfect fit black bezel with this amazing green colour inside!!Although it's a very nice style watch!

I don’t have an Orient in the collection but the head of the Kamasu w/the round applied indices and that shade of green/blue along w/ sapphire, solid lume and movement is a beauty. Add a solid Strapcode SS bracelet with a milled clasp and it can tackle divers that are selling for much more . Thanks for looks, definitely would add this and as much as I like Citizen Promaster Fugu W auto I would unload it to lighten the load. Thanks again! 👊🏼

@@Avaddon911 how is the grey variant by the way, I find it subdued and really attractive. I have the green and maroon ones myself. Find them quite attractive.

That retro vibe is great. But it seems to have less lume, maybe it is affected by the yellowish color of the hands and indices

Nice camera work, angles, lighting etc. wasn’t crazy about the music but liked that the bezel.clicks could be heard and actual measurements shown. Overall well done. What are you shooting with?

Maybe check out the other watches from them. Its nice to have differnt kinds of Watches like pilot watches , Diver ( Like in the Video), Dress, Casual.

Hi, great watch! One question though, does the sapphire crystal of this watch fit the Orient Ray 2 / Mako 2 ? (looking on buying this one and mod it with a domed crystal, so maybe i could then put it's flat crystal on a mako 2 that i already have). Thanks!

I ordered the previous generation yesterday without knowing this version was available. Love the fumé dial on this one, however I think they should have kept the original lume plots to prevent it from becoming another submariner homage.

@@Amin_2k At opposite ends of the boardroom, I think a casual watch enthusiast would have a hard time telling the difference between this and a Submariner. I preferred when they were doing their own thing with the lume plots resembling the teeth of a barracuda (Kamasu). Hey, at least this way, we can both be happy! And if you happen to buy a Submariner without telling your OH, you can always pass it off as a £200 Orient 😊👍🏻

I just ordered the gen 1 kamasu and just saw this new one. I like the dial on the gen 2 but gen 1 feels more unique and its own thing. How you like your kamasu gen 1?

@@pregardt Happy New Year. I’m really enjoying it, thanks. I put it on the strapcode three-link bracelet straight away. I’ve measured it at around +9 secs per day, which is acceptable. If I was to be picky, my only gripes are the dial texture (slightly grainy in certain light) and the crystal (super reflective). Otherwise, I think it does a great job at its given price point.

Is this the Kamasu 2. How's your lume. How do you charge it. Natural light/UV flash light. Other. Thanks.

Has anyone noticed that the Asian youtube videos for this watch have the day function in red lettering? (date is still black). The American and European-based videos have all the lettering black. This also applies to the black dial version.

Obviously went out of your way to synchronize the watches down to the second-hand sweep. I tip my proverbial cap to you sir...and I'm about to buy the 2nd version thanks to your video.

What are the major differences between this and the Ray? Aside from the sapphire crystal.

Not a major difference but the dial on this spells out “water resistant” instead of “water resist”. The color is nice. Teal I believe.

Wish they would do a 40mm version for those of us with smaller wrists

Not at all. It depends if you like more bigger watches, but since the compact lug to lug I think it fits

Had the same drama, but I got the gray, that way I can have many Nato strap variations.

Changes between old and new gen are to small, few round indexes are not enough. I like to se bigger crown, new bezel, better bracelet and maybe 1 mm bigger case. This is more a lift, super cheap mod. Stil nice watch but no reason for me to buy second gen only for round indexes.

You can check out the previous version, which is far more cheaper. If you like it also, go with it.

If the bracelet and crown are the same as the older versions I don't see a reason for buying this one. Like the older style more with the red details and without the circles. I also think this new dial stand out a bit too much. The sudle color on the older ones makes it really special
