    In doing my genealogy research, I was so excited to find the Quarton name! It's so cool to see the paintings, and so well done. It's interesting that my ancestors came to America about 1823, from Yorkshire, England. But the name is definitely French - and there are some now found in Australia, Canada, the U.S., Great Britain, and France.

    I want to point out one thing. Those drops of water in Christ's wound are not tears but the water that is supposed to have emerged from his wound according to the bible.

    "The Virgin of Mercy" is incredible. I hope that made it onto this playlist as well. I was typing about Jesus and John's fingers when I heard Dr. Zucker's commentary about a celestial harp and gave it up, lol. Beautifully said. My thought was just about their fingers being in interesting positions. I feel as though the water in Christ's wound is from the wound (to match Scripture) rather than tears, but that's a bittersweet thought, too. Such a sad piece...
