The HU - Yuve Yuve Yu

Love The HU sooo much!! There’s also a version featuring Jacoby of Papa Roach, which is awesome. Btw, in ancient Chinese they called Mongol as “胡(Hu)人”, I guess it’s probably one of the reason for their band name.

10:19 from what I’ve read, the HU said that the song Wolf Totem is actually part of a 12th century “poem” or letter written by one of Chinggis Khaan’s (Ghengis Khaan is how we know him) sons that they put to music. Towards the end when they sing “Ten of us will strike as thunder” etc. , is actually the sizes of the troops in the Mongolian Horde from what I could find out, their “units” were 10, 100, 1000, and 10,000. Another interesting thing I found out is the part where they say “Ten Thousand of us will hand you the Wrath of Heaven”, supposedly Chinggis Khaan had said to a conquered King “I am the Wrath of Heaven, if your sins had not been so great God would not have sent me to destroy you”, which I find interesting since Mongolian religion is Tengri-ism and Bhuddist, not Christian or Catholisism, so why say “God” instead of Tengri? 🤔 Either way, if he truly said it, that was badass.

Thank you for reminding me of 'The HU'!!! Saw this MV when it first came out years ago, then kind of forgot about them over time. I'm currently writing a battle scene involving Mongolian Calvary in the late 1200s and have kind of hit a block... This video came at just the right time!! I usually have power-metal playing when I write battles, it helps me A LOT in getting the 'visuals' going on in my head (Don't ask me why, it's just one of those weird 'writer things' I guess), but this time I've been stuck for a few days... Until this review video came out... That film reel in my head is running again!!! THANK YOU Joe!!

I've been watching the HU band for some years. I love their music and there are many great tracks Both videos and some live studio recordings. Notice that the guitar is custom made and resenmbles a bow and arrow. Also note the correct pronunciation of Chinggis Khan - not the Anglicised version Genghis Khan. It was a mistranslation from the writings of Marco Polo I love how the two stringed horsehead fiddle can be played to make those horse sounds, and even eagles screaming. The other song you mention is said more like Yuwy Yuwy Yu, You might also like Yuve Yuve Yu [LIVE @ SiriusXM Studios] with Danny Case from Ashes to New,

Hi Joe, I would really recommend a band called 安达乐队, I was so shocked when I heard this song for the first time, 江格尔英雄赞, even though I can't understand the Mongolian language, but still impressive. They also covered Eason Chan's 孤勇者, which is a completely different feeling and very powerful. They use a variety of instruments and everyone is playing, enjoying the performance, that's a very good band, hope you like it.

First of all, great reaction video dude. 2nd - MOST Nations/Peoples invading Mongolian lands (with the Mongolians under the leadership of the Great Ghengis Khan, who if I'm not mistaken was when the Mongolian Horse Clans were at their HEIGHT in terms of strength/power/strategy/tactics) would see Ghengis Khan's Mongolians and essentially say: "Ooohh, SHIT! Oh yeah wait a minute, I just remembered that I have a...um...thing...or something...or I left the door unlocked on my house. So...um...BYE!!!" Haha; 3rd - if (and I stress IF) the Native American tribes at the HEIGHT of their strength/power would have ever encountered the Mongolians at the HEIGHT of their strength/power, just EXACTLY who would actually win? And before ANYONE says ANYTHING: YES, I know that these two Cultures/Peoples were from different time periods. HOWEVER, these two Cultures/Peoples had VERY similar skills/training/abilities when it came to 'Mounted Warriors'. So I've always personally wondered, just EXACTLY who would actually win in a hypothetical what-if scenario? I'd personally put my money on the Mongolians, SOLELY due to the fact that Ghengis Khan united all the Mongolian Horse Clans, while I honestly don't remember hearing anything about a single Native American leader uniting ALL the Native American tribes (if I'm wrong about that, then please correct me). But regardless, again great reaction video dude. Oh by the way, you just got a new subscriber.

At the age of 18, Huo Qubing was appointed as the captain of Yao Yao [90]. He led 800 cavalry deep into the desert, twice won the title of the entire army, and was awarded the title of Champion Marquis. In the second year of Yuanshou (121 BC), the 20-year-old Huo Qubing was promoted to General of Hussars and commanded two battles in Hexi. He captured the Xiongnu and offered sacrifices to the Jin people. Attack the right side of the Huns. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty moved the Xiongnu to the outside of the border fortress. Because of their old customs, he established five vassal states, and successively established four counties in Hexi in his hometown. This established direct exchanges between the inland and the Western Regions, and had an impact on the growth and decline of the Western Han Dynasty and the Xiongnu power. Significant impact. In the fourth year of Yuanshou (119 BC), Huo Qubing and Wei Qing led their troops deep into Mobei. In the Battle of Mobei, they wiped out more than 70,000 of the main force of King Zuoxian of the Xiongnu. They pursued the Xiongnu army as far as Langjuxu Mountain and Guyan Mountain. Offer sacrifices to heaven and earth, and then return to the Hanhai Sea. This battle caused "the Xiongnu to flee far away, and there was no royal court in Monan" [40]. After the war, he became the Great Sima Hussar General and shared military and political power with Wei Qing.
