Please correct me if I am wrong but sometimes uptalk is a must just before a comma. What about this sentence... " As long as he comes back from his trip on time, he will go to the meeting." After the word "time" I personally would add an up-intonation just to indicate that I will add more information. English is not my mother tongue though.

stephen tang, The second choice, (#2), is correct . . . without any of the Commas to be sure that it was punctuated correctly when the sentence was written rather than spoken. Commas shouldn't be used in writing to indicate pauses when speaking.

I'm also not a native speaker, and I also get the trouble like you. But my thought a little different. You know, many others speak English over the world like Korea, Singapore, India and so on. We learn English to communicate with many people on the world, not just UK or US, so I always try to listen and understand many people speaking English from many countries, I think that is better than just listen the standard English. But I also learn the way to speak English accurated. Thank you all for reading my comment!

Hey I didn't even know intonation plays such an pivotal role in speaking English with intelligent and authority. It's sort of creating perception and understanding that intonation is really important. Thank you Lisa for highlighting this. 😊👍
Oh my god! I struggled so much with my falling Russian intonation that I switched to uptalk without noticing it myself. Now I need to retrain. Lisa, thank you very much. I cannot thank you enough.
I'm an English Language Tutor from Greece too and you've helped me to improve my oral speech so much !! I'm so grateful!!
One thing I am getting clear is that among varied factors influencing a good language, the concept of Intonation plays a key function in deciding our effective communication and maintaining good relationship. It's more of psychological in nature, as the right awareness on intonation enables our understandings to identify the emotions displayed by the speakers. Maybe, Intonation is a true reflection of one's mental state. As rightly said by the teacher, we need to be careful whom we imitate. I do make a note of it Ma'am and I am immensely thankful to the Teacher for the worthy training. Great. (Ravi)
Really you are very important teacher for English language.
While seeing many of her videos, i realized how Ms. Mojsin is not only an English teacher, she really works for her students, not just to master the language itself plainly, but actually work on the entire universe of communication, giving capabilities of one powerful gift that is human communication.

Thank you for a lovely lesson. Listening to you speak I can hear where my pronunciation differs, whereas before it was hard for me to catch it. 🙂
Let me tell you guys a very authoritative perspective from my learning and teaching experience since I’m an English Language lecturer in China. I had been to Tennessee and Massachusetts studying and working. I noticed significantly that the Bostonians and ppl in Massachusetts are a whole lot more uptalker than Tennesseans ! Ppl in Boston especially girls and women sometimes even men use a lot of rising tones after each PERIOD ! This seemed to be a fashion! And ppl regard it as natural and sweet and graceful, oh my God! As a non-native speaker of the English language I was shocked! But my ability of acquiring a new accent is soooooo strong, extraordinarily strong, I myself now has a Bostonian accent!
This is so good! I’m a native speaker and I do this all the time! I even sing-song things... out of politeness but I never realized it affects my impression! Thanks

Perfect ... I got it professor ! 👍 Thank you
Gerat love from India really you have deep knowledge thanks for your help n support
Marvellous! I have no word to say, and just following your channel to change my bad habit and wrong method!!!!
Thank you for posting this video. I'm glad I found your channel! "Uptalking" is prevalent right now and very distracting. When someone is giving a statement that sounds like a question, well, it's so annoying to hear! Just watch Brie Larson's interview on Wired here on youtube. That's an example of extreme uptalking.
I'm a biggest fan of you, the way of your teaching really awesome, everyone can understand very easily, thanks a lot....
I love how you explained this subject. It helped me a lot. thank you
Oh thanks a million! I have been imitating uptalk! Thanks for ur golden words

Thank you for teaching us the right WAY!
I'm so happy I found video. Believe me it's the first time I hear about uptalk. Thank you hundred times

Thanks for your guidance. May God Bless you!

Thank you so much for your teaching us to improve our pronunciation and to increase our vocabulary. I appreciate it so much.
Thank you I learned a lot of thing through your videos 👍😊
Great video - thanks! I am a native speaker, and never thought about it. But you're quite right - questions have rising pitch at the end, and so if that happens, it subconsciously cues a question even for statements.

i'm not a native speaker but i've learned english since primary school and i am quite good on it too, now im in high school, i only use the uptalk when it comes to questions and dont have a problem with anything related to this. The real problem i have is that i tend to speak in a way where my pronunciation doesn't come off clear and i often jumble up words and the worst- i stutter even when i don't mean to! If you could really help me with this, i'd be more than thankful to you, i'm sure there are many more who have the same problem as me when it comes to reading out loud or even just talking :) (this video helped though too)
So nice to hear your smooth and clear AmE.
This is my first video that I watch, and I like because there is good conversation and good sounds
Thanks For your sincerely hard work
I must be a bit very shy, but I realize that my pitch is rather falling at the end of almost every statement. Thank you so much for your professional tip you have given me!
Your way of teaching and talking is wonderfull . We take a lot off lessons from you . Not only the language . Thank you .
This makes a big difference when I speak, I didn't know this. Thank you so much
Please include these two words "review" and "reveal" into your bucket list. I"m having a hard time pronouncing those words. By the way, I've learned a lot from you. Thank you much Lisa.
The best channel for perfecting your English!
came across your classes recently. Heaps of stuff to learn, Different approach. Appreciate your simplicity in teaching. If possible would you mind doing a video " How to get rid of monotounous tone" and its not convincing however much a person fluent in the language. The biggest obstacle!

Thank you mam for pointing out that 'uptalk'. For that it would also be improved my further communication skills. So once again love you mam
You are a perfect teacher. Go ahead my dear teacher. Thank you.
"Uptalk" is something which we usually use when asking a question or having a doubt. When we are answering questions from someone, we must be confident even if we are not 100 percent about the answers and then, you can tell them to find them out by themselves . There are many alternatives to answer the questions and this is actually etiquette.
