In the recent few days, I managed to make time and finish this one :D
Due to the video delay caused by the encoder, I applied one more option before encoding. However, the option is said to be incompatible with some environments. Please inform me if you have a trouble watcing this video.
P.S.
I referred to T96able's video for the same song when translating some of the text (Thank you!)

This was the very first Ar Tonelico hymn I came to hear. It bewitched me from my first listen. Now, seven to eight years later, finally, I have led the charge to Platina, and I have heard this in game. Nothing could have prepared me for this. To anyone who thinks this song is amazing when heard in isolation, I beg of you : play the game to experience it. I have _never_ borne witness to a more satisfying RPG fight.

I swear to god, this can't get more epic. I remember the first encounter with ELMA-DS, when Misha started to sing I was like "NO F*CKING WAY! O.o" Best boss theme ever.

@@alvarosolano3600 No, there's only one release for Ar Tonelico 1. It's on the PS2, and even though the English localization is not the best, it's still acceptable. Ar Tonelico 2 is the one where the localization got so awful it had to be redone from scratch.

Man, Misha and Aurica had always been on kind of equal ground to me, but when Misha began singing THIS, she surmounted Aurica by a leap and a bound. Oh, god.

This comment is kind of legendary to me, because I first read it before even knowing who Misha and Aurica were. Now, having completed Ar Tonelico 1, I can say that, even as someone who _does not_ at all like Misha, this song *obliterates* Aurica's version in every way possible.

Sigh, how I would love to see an actual ceremonial shrine performance of this song. Fires blazing behind the musicians, fog enveloping the stage, and as a shadowy figure with red glowing eyes surrounded by smoke appears behind the dancers.

My singable lyrics! I'll initiate the Rite (And I'll release the power) This song, PURGER (And initialize your life)... I'll play the godly song PURGER And end your connection to tower! (I'll halt all energy output to you) I'll play the godly song PURGER And completely drive you out! I'll dance (I'll dance) At the monsters' feast (wicked place) I'm a dancing Miko, pleasure for eyes (I'm an offering, a sacrifice to gods) Now I'll dance always and faithfully, reflecting the light, even at the world's end [If] Exhausted, darkness will swallow me and drag me deep inside, into where all those demons hide If not, I'll pray to gods to keep me breathing and alive And I'll offer up my purest song! Purge the skies, Purge the earth Purge our world And our bodies Oh, the heavenly gods And the earthly gods And the gods of the whole world This my prayer: eliminate all the foul sins and bad karma and all darknesses! Get lost in the sacred music, demons, And close your eyes now, unresting spirits Fall asleep now and go to place from you all came In the tomb where you belong, sleep eternally - I'll close you off The king of underworld shall judge those who dream! I'll dance at the monsters' feast (I'll sing at this tempting feast) I'm a dancing Miko, pleasure for eyes (I'll sing this melodies for you) Now- (I'll play the godly song PURGER And end your connection to tower!) [I'll halt all energy output to you] (x2) I'll dance always and faithfully, reflecting the light, even at the world's end! (Purge the skies, purge the earth Purge our world and our bodies)... (Oh, the heavenly gods and the earthly gods and the gods of the whole world)... My dance is the reflection of world's sadness - that's my fate...

@mishaklein I use some of CS4 Master Collection programs: Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After FX (I started to use this one last week.) In combination, they're just plain awesome. I owe them a lot when making the videos; some people are capable of making marvelous lyrics videos only with Windows Movie Maker, but for me, it would be virtually impossible to make such stuffs without these programs. Of course, CS Master Collection is very, very expensive... but worth the cost ;-)

Although I have to wonder if Tsuchiya is a bit of a troll when it comes to the song lyrics, given that he never wanted to reveal the Hymmnos lyrics to this song (all of the translations out there in the net, might it be this excellent one from AbstractGarden or my own one, have only guesses for the Hymmnos parts), and the same goes for the official translations of the corrupted Pastalie lines from Sublimation ~ ee wassa sos yehar. I mean, we never got even what words formed these lines....

@@narutohinataashgaara Hymmnos is an artificial language, and serves as the in-game means of spell casting. Characters with the ability, known as Reyvatales, can sing things into (and out of) existence. The language itself is actually a form of computer code which calls on a device called a song server to execute the desired "program." In Hymmnos, Hymnnos means "song."

I already knew this song was a higher level of good when I listened to it. I just didn't know HOW good until I saw the translated lyrics. Play it (with translations) for any Catholic priest and then watch him mentally kick himself for not evangelizing Japan when they had the chance. Mishaklein: Devil Music? Aurica's is practically a catechism by comparison. The words definitely make a huge difference.

  • @rainwitchansy

MrConservativeGamer lol Catholics DID evangelize to Japan. Look up St. Francis Xavier 😉 While Aurica’s Purger is thematically Catholic, Misha’s is Shinto, Japan’s home religion. I think of it more like a cultural homage more than anything else TBH. I will say through that I really like the energy in this one much better; it’s a pity. As a former cantor and choir member, I feel like they could’ve done a lot more cool stuff with Aurica’s.
