That is lovely, they are the most amazingly beautiful dogs , with a heart of gold , ......but please heed this advice, their bond with you is priceless and forever , ......IF......you are retired , or in a position to take them everywhere with you , and have lots of squirrels near you for them to chase , their recall is immediate, and their love unconditional, please only get one if you can provide the company and bond they deserve , I found this in later life and my cocker brings me sunshine every day , ......I hope you get your cocker , and reap the rewards of a amazing bond that I never drempt even existed, 😊😊😊😊😊

if you can afford one you should get one they are awesome dogs and will give you lots of love and affection my Cocker Lady was a gift for my Mom from my siblings. She bonded with me insteed of Mom so i'm now her caretaker. I grew up with Large dog so i wasn't expecting this breed to worm its way into my heart like Lady did. She's now a year old and is my shadow i look forward to many more years with her and i don't think she's going to be my last

I bred and showed them in the 70s and 80s and have had at least one for most of my adult life. I just got a new puppy last October and I am planning to do dog sports with her. There are a couple of errors in this video. In the description of the difference in head shape between the English and American cocker spaniels, the two were reversed. Also, one of the dogs pictured and not identified is an English springer spaniel but the video made it seem to be an English cocker spaniel. Also I wish they had made it clear that there are two different strains of English cockers, the show strain and the field strain or working cocker. They are the same breed but can look quite different. The video shows pictures of both, which could be confusing to those who don't know the difference. The show strain has a more profuse coat, requiring more grooming, has lower set ears, and is generally calmer and less energetic, although there are individual differences too. The working strain has a less refined head with broader skull and higher-set shorter ears.
