Germany produced an incredible amount of talent from 1988 to 1998 - enough for two great teams. I always thought Vogts could never get them to gel together and they probably should have won more than 1 world cup and 1 Euro. Effenberg, Schumacher and Schuster were expelled. They won Euro 96 without Matthaues, Effenberg, Basler and Kohler. Kahn was on the bench and Riedle, Jeremies, Kirsten, Woerns could not even get in the squad. Riches then compared to the rags today.

Played on September 11th 1991.. exactly 10 years before the horrific events of 9/11.

Another match between these Two teams was played exactly 10 days before those events and it was won by england in Munich 5-1.What a huge shock that result was at that time!
